My hand is cramping just reading that. 😵‍💫🫣😆

Yeah... even my guitar teacher, who is a huge 80s metal fan, was like 'nope'. Eller thankfully has a "small hand" version for those who aren't an 80s player like Lee, George Lynch, or Warren DeMartini, all of whom also loved to have these extreme stretches. Ratt's "Lay It Down" isn't THAT bad, but it's still a stretch.

Makes sense being they’re all friends with Jake being in an early version of Ratt iirc.

You never see Adam Jones' face that well onstage because of the lighting, or lack thereof. It was interesting to see how emotionless his expression, or lack of, actually is. And he rarely looked down at his fretboard. His playing was impeccable though.

"When Trunk joked that he was "impressed that Bill took his shirt off" during SABBATH's performance, Tony said: "Oh my God. I'll tell you what, one funny story. When we had a break on one of the rehearsals, we went in to eat at the studio, and Bill got his shirt off, and Geezer was just about to have a sandwich. He went, 'Oh, Bill put your shirt on. You're putting me off the sandwich.' [Laughs] But it's typical Bill. He is always taking his shirt off every time. I mean, in the old days, he'd always take his shirt off. I said to Bill, 'Blimey, Bill, you look like [ancestral Hobbit] Gollum.' And I don't think he knew who Gollum was. He's always always been the same, Bill. He just doesn't care. He goes on and does what he wants, which is great. That's always been Bill. And immediately, of course, all the jokes started again as soon as we were together, having a go at each other. It was really fun, actually. It was great. The communication carried on from years ago.""

Anthrax had great set. Scott Ian always gets the most crushing tone, though I’m assuming it’s a Kemper or some other godawful modeler.

I know I'm in the minority (something I've gotten used to), but I don't need to ever see Jack Black again.

It's enough, already. Overexposure for a mediocre talent, IMO.

Same goes for The Rock, Samuel L Jackson, and John Goodman.

I've noticed than in most videos crowd is very quiet, even folks by the stage just stand there without showing any emotions. I mean, they paid so much for these tickets and act like they are not really excited to be there. What gives?

That is a really good indicator for what the energy really is at a performance, what's really going on.. all kinds of tricks can be done with the video and editing and Lighting, sound.. but just look at the crowd

Can anyone venture guess is on why almost all of these videos have been pulled?

Because they want to sell you a DVD and live album around Christmas.  💰💰💰

Every time we've done a Sabbath with Ozzy or Ozzy solo episode, it's been pulled from YouTube immediately. Copyright bots.

The guys on And The Podcast Will Rock just dealt with that on their Patreon episode.  They were using YouTube videos on their live YouTube feed, and they were getting warnings in real time.

... I assume there's going to be some huge mega box set come out for it eventually, once they get all the rights and such.

No doubt they will milk this concert for every last penny. There are already several expensive commercial products tied to the concert:

1) 2 reissues of Ozzy's See You on the Other Side vinyl set - one limited signed/numbered (released in March) and one not numbered coming out in July - $600

2) Laney TI amp - limited signed edition for $5K, already sold out. I wouldn't be surprised if they follow up with non-limited version.

3) Iommi The Photographs luxury books costing hundreds of dollars (depending on the version)

We can be 100% sure that Sharon will put together massive box set of videos, just as she did with wit Ozzy's huge vinyl set. 10 hours of video footage is a gold mine, you can add interviews and "making of..." and bunch of other video / audio materials.

That's the reason videos are being taken down on youtube.

I for one absolutely did not use Pirate Bay to get the whole thing.

And I absolutely will not use it again when they have the official version come out with the vocals fixed for some of these performances where the audio wasn't going to the feed.

Me, either. Private torrents are the way to go.

Wishing Brad Gillis was there in some capacity 🎸

Me too! I thought Brad was the odd man out who wan’t invited. Yet after, Randy passed he kept Ozzy going on tour until Jake was selected for the 3rd album. I saw Brad play on that tour right after Randy died and he was freaking amazing…. The entire concert was,TBH. They actually HUNG a little person. Legs kicking until they weren’t and he hand there the entire second half of the show.

I missed seeing Randy too. I saw that tour at The Cow Palace SF but everyone back then said it was Pat Thrall. Was there any truth to that or did I actually see Brad?

Damn, now I'm wondering if it was really Ozzy!! 🙃

@ZR, if it was the the tour right after Randy died than you indeed saw Brad Gillis with his red Strat playing the Rhoads and Iommi parts. And he played them very well indeed.  The Sabbath songs were immortalized on the “Speak of the Devil” Ozzy album.

Did Brad play over the mountain while moving the guitar high above his right shoulder than back down again and again, back and forth? That's what I remember anyway.

Sorry for the thread hijack. But apparently not sorry enough not to do it! 😉     I also found this old interview which I guess is where we might have been led off track...

How is your new guitarist, Brad Gillis, working out?

Brad's working out fine, he really is. Every time we play he gets better and better. He's an unknown guitarist from San Francisco.

How did you find him?

Through Pat Thrall, who used to play with Pat Travers. He put me onto him.
