Jack C Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 looks nice. Is the truss rod cover made out of wood?
BubbaVO Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Gorgeous. Very cool.I can't tell what "special beefy round neck carve" really means. Is the neck carve similar to that of the Talladega?
Camstone Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 Great looking guitar, Congrats! Was that something that they had in stock, or did you special order it from Hamer through Willcutt?
zbeluhan Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 Gorgeous. Very cool.I can't tell what "special beefy round neck carve" really means. Is the neck carve similar to that of the Talladega?Haven't had a telladega in my hands so i can't tell if it's similar. I don't know how the neck is on this one but i've ordered it 1/4 inch thicker than their vintage carve and more a roun 'C' shape.Great looking guitar, Congrats! Was that something that they had in stock, or did you special order it from Hamer through Willcutt?yeah, custom order with all my wishes, completion after 4 months.looks nice. Is the truss rod cover made out of wood?yes, ordered as 'matching trussrod cover'

Steve Haynie Posted February 5, 2008 Posted February 5, 2008 A friend got a Gibson Explorer in junior high that had the thickest neck I remember from that time. I did not fall in love with it at the time, but it was one of those guitars I had to keep trying. Memory makes me want to try that guitar again and again. Today there is a Gretsch Jet hanging in the local music store that has a really thick neck and it is one of those guitars you do not want to put down. The neck carve on the Standard in this thread sounds really interesting, especially if it was offered on one of the big bodied Monacos or even a Junior.
