Stike Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Well after working for Team Gadow for over 3 years I figured it was time to get one of our models built to MY specs and here it is. Maple topped(I know, it's so unlike me) korina body, korina neck, pao ferro board, 24 3/4" scale, custom inlays from Brian England's place( yeah I see the filler too , lone P90. It's a fuggin rawk machine, NOW I know what you korina Jr. guys are yammerin' about. Our neck guy used to work for Hamer so there's the HC.
Hamerica Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Stike,That is a cool guitar. I like everything about it - inlays included. Hamerica
JohnnyThunders Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Really nice guitar. Love the top and single p-90 look.
serial Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Holee crap, Dude, that ROCKS! Hafta email me the details on those...
frankb Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 That is very nice. I may have to make a call to the other carolina soon.
Jack C Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Looks great, except for the finish. Whoever sprayed that thing should be forced to play Brown Eyed Girl nightly.
Brooks Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 very cool, stike. i took some pics of recent arrivals last night; rocktuna's beat up SS1 (note home made motorhead graphic), and an import duotone that arrived yesterday.
MCChris Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Sweet guitar Stike. What kind of P90 you got in there?
cmatthes Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Wait - there's another Carolina?I like it, Stike! Very nice execution, and very much "you", except for the lack of ultra flake, dayglo stickers and faux fur. You can always add that stuff later, right?!Very cool.
pesocaster Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 very cool! .... how about a shot of the whole thing... and headstock...
John E Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Me likey. Beatiful wood, and looks like first-rate quality control. What frets do you have on there? They look pleasantly plump.
cmatthes Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 John:Not to derail, but I think that Stike mentioned that we DC'ers can view his handiwork at The Guitar Shop on Connecticut Avenue (the second floor walkup up by Dupont Circle). A bit of a walk for you though. I'd wait until Fall for that with this weather!
Stike Posted July 20, 2005 Author Posted July 20, 2005 Answers to questions It ALMOST got flaked but I decided to throw myself a curve ball. Frets. The neck got built a while ago and I think I told our neck guy to put in 6100's but I might have said 6105's. I can't remember but they feel good to me. Pickup. It was supposed to get a Fralin but there were only 2 in house and they were going in a double P90 model that was Indy bound(it's SWEET in it's 57 Chevy aqua top BTW) so I hadda go down the street and pay retail for a Henry J , woulda waited on more Fralin's but I wanted to gig it and had to get it wired up quick. DOOD, a SS!?! What's got into you?
BLuesBuster Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Stike, that's a killah guitar! I love 'dem inlays!!!
