BCR Greg Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 ME! I'm filling in for guitarist Richard Fortis(who has a Guns and Roses Gig) in "Pisser", with Scott Coogan and Anthony Esposito of Ace's solo band. Just got off the phone with Anthony. We're at the Drinkin' Bone in Wormelysburg, Pa, across the river from Harrisburg. Anyone in the Central Pa area, come on out!
skhan007 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Man, that's awesome Greg. Make sure you play good vintage Junior for this occasion and have someone capture it on video as well. I've met Ace many times and he REALLY knows how to enjoy life.
BCR Greg Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 This gig will require this guitar, I think....
Jeff R Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Wholly damn, that sounds cool. My envy meter is on 11.
BCR Greg Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 Pics, hell. Hopefully someone will shoot video.
cmatthes Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 You have exactly 5 days (including holiday time) to make that neck pickup a light up smoker!(C'mon...do it!)
skhan007 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Shoot, if it were me, I'd have Ace play that tobacco burst Custom, have him sign it after the gig, and move it for $10K!!
BCR Greg Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 Ace won't be there, but his rig will.
Armitage Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Wow, that's SO cool! Rig pix would be appreciated!
coolfeel Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Awesome. Ask Ace to play Talk To Me! Ahh yes, one of my personal favorites...
skhan007 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Awesome. Ask Ace to play Talk To Me! Ahh yes, one of my personal favorites... Did you guys know that this is a very RARE instance where Ace tunes to open-G tuning (ala Keith Richards)? As far as I know, he only did open-G tuning on two songs with Kiss and Talk to Me was one of them.
RoyB Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Sounds like fun Greg! Looking forward to some video of the show. It's fun to plays star equipment. I get to play through Ace's reunion tour rig all the time and I even break out the "shock me Mutron every now and then.
Brentrocks Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 You have exactly 5 days (including holiday time) to make that neck pickup a light up smoker! (C'mon...do it!) yes...and i want rockets shooting from the headstock!!!! i could double as ACE for ya....lol
Armitage Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 This gig will require this guitar, I think.... I had this poster up in my room for ages as a kid... Well not the signed numbered one...
LordOfTheThighs Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I get to play through Ace's reunion tour rig all the time and I even break out the "shock me Mutron every now and then. Totally Sweet, Roy!!! Ace Frehley's Reunion rig = RAWK! Pretty bad-ass.
Brooks Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 i'm confused. you're playing thru ace's rig w/ ace's band, but ace won't be there...?
Stevieconlon Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Greg--we need pictures of the rig and pix of you onstage in the classic "Ace" pose! Unless you're still partying from the show, time to pony up and post 'em!
