jisham Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Damn! Baltimore "postponed" as well and I have tickets. Hard to believe really as they seemed to be genuinely having a blast at the DC show.
benum47 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 They played here in Edmonton last week on the 11th (I heard it was not that great). Hopefully its not due to anyone's healthHere's the article:http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/van-halen-postpone-summer-tour-dates-20120517
Toadroller Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Interesting. I saw them last night at a corporate gig in Orlando. Decent show- lots of pre-Hagar and relatively deep cuts ( e.g.) out of love again), good Eddie solo, finished up with Jump to leave us wanting more.
MCChris Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 A shame. The album is a legit triumph IMO. No matter what the unnamed sources in the article say, the band members don't hate each other. Eddie and Alex hate Dave.
Steve Haynie Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Shows are still listed on the Van Halen web site through June, so if there is an illness the current dates would be postponed rather than the later dates. Fortunately, the postponed show for which tickets are in hand is only 14 miles away. There is no need for any of us to get time off from work, so no arrangements are screwed up.
svl Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 If it's because of bickering, then that's really a shame. But I hope that's the reason and not a remission for Ed (either illness, take your pick). The writing was probably literally on the wall, though- when we had the VIP passes for the second show, I pointed out to my son that Dave had his own dressing room, and the 3 VHs had one room together. Segregation, Van Halen style.
bubs_42 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 TMZ broke the news last night. Ed is having testing done for an illness to nail down cause and treatment actions.
BubbaVO Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Uh oh. Didn't this happen the last tour when Eddie needed to "rest"
The Shark Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Snuck out and bought a single ticket outside the Amway Arena. Sat about ten rows up in the first section on the "wrong" side. The big screen was killer. I like Van Halen, but they're not in my top ten, if you know what I mean. But they were damn good and the list didn't differ much from what I went to hear. I really enjoyed the show. These cancellations can't be good, no matter what. I felt like they were legitimately having fun up there.
Studio Custom Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 So when does Sammy come back? Of course it would have to include Michael.
kizanski Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I hate to say "I told you so," but I do believe I called this when the tour was announced.
marcnorth Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I saw them when they played here in Indy and they appeared to be having a good time. We had suite tickets with a great view. I tried to get my oldest son to take my ticket and he turned me down. I wasn't all that impressed with the show but they did alright for a bunch of old men and a kid. Not as good as they were when they only had a couple of albums out but still rockin out.
MCChris Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I hate to say "I told you so," but I do believe I called this when the tour was announced. You really went out on a limb there!
tommy p Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Dang! I have tickets to the Hampton, VA show in July. I hope everything works out.
jisham Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I got an email from Ticketmaster as I have tickets for the postponed Baltimore show. The email emphasizes it's only a postponement and that a new date is coming. However, they do offer refunds.

jisham Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Yeah I think I will hold on to my tickets cow now until things are a little more clear.
cynic Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I'm hearing the new dates will be published once the details have been finalized with Cherone's people.
Bobby Marshall Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I'm hearing the new dates will be published once the details have been finalized with Cherone's people. If this is true, then the tour truly is dead.
veatch Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I'm hearing the new dates will be published once the details have been finalized with Cherone's people. LMAO. Unless yer serious....
Stike Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I have not seen any You Tube videos from this tour of an obviously fucked up Eddie playing terribly (unlike the last tour) so I'll speculate egos or illness?
