veatch Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Man, I love this stuff... How do I order another Hamer again? :/
Bobby Marshall Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 It has been a year since they stopped taking orders but they are still being produced. So cool and so sad at the same time.
sixesandsevens Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Man, I love this stuff... How do I order another Hamer again? :/ I always thought I had more time...
HSB0531 Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 I'm not looking forward to hearing this from the Hamer Crew: "Ok this is the last one".
HSB0531 Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 Watching a Guild acoustic being made just doesn't have the same effect.
RichRS6 Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Can we custom order Guild to build Gibson style Explorers with flame maple tops, bound bodies and crown inlays ??
HSB0531 Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 With no logo on the headstock.Call it a No'splorer. Each one could come with a Hamer logo in the case.
Northfield Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Does anybody have pics of this Glen Tipton Custom ? I lost mine of it being made when my phone crashed. There is a cool story how it was made. Thanks
Tres Aardvarks Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 That shape looks almost like an upside down Jackson Warrior?
mc2 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 May I suggest a simple NAMM display for Hamer that Fender might consider for its booth? How about a real coffin, lid open, with a killer Hamer in it (actually Neilsen's "Uncle Dick" would be perfect for this)....with a set of vampire fangs on the headstock, with a sign that simply says "Undead." A play on all the vampire craze.......and Fender does a lottery promotion of "anything goes" Hamer Custom Order tickets to be won over 2014 (ONE build per month.) People can buy lottery tickets for some $$ amount and Fender can donate the proceeds to some cause, as it picks the winners who can place a custom build order.Cool promo...and it would keep the Hamer brand alive in a minimal way and keep a buzz going. I think it could be a cool way to gauge market demand and keep the brand alive, yet on a back burner in a cool way. Maybe even number them "Undead 1 thru 12."
cmatthes Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 That would cost FMIC way too much to consider doing.
mc2 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 That would cost FMIC way too much to consider doing. Not if they reuse Bill Schultz's or Leo's coffin.
HSB0531 Posted January 1, 2014 Author Posted January 1, 2014 Undead 1 through 12?Then they shall be 2-digits.
specialk Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Hamer? It was a numbers game and Hamer couldn't compete. Most recent, (2008?), breakdown of Electric Guitar sales by price range: Electrics Under $100............256,354 $101 to $200..........561,537 $201 to $350..........195,317 $351 to $600..........97,659 $601 to $1,000.......61,037 $1,001 to $1,250.....24,415 $1251 to $1,600......13,185 $1,601 to $2,000.....12,207 $2,001 to $3,000.....11,229 Sourcehttp://dinosaurrockguitar.com/forum/...p?topic=8890.0
Shark Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Holy shit. That's right. Really looking forward following the building process ...Cool.
gorch Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Wow, that looks like a big backlog. When will it be done?
Steve Haynie Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Update the B12A to an archtop with f holes.
HSB0531 Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 And here I thought mine was the last 12ver.
cmatthes Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 There were at least two in the queue when I was up there last fall.
