kizanski Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 So, Ringo is the 8th most talented Beatle. As if the opinion of a fucking DRUMMER means anything to me. What do you call a guy that hangs out with musicians? Exactly. This deserves another look. TJ was/is an MF!
kizanski Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Drummers aren't musicians.They don't make music.
Sugartune Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Unnecessary Ringo bashing. Yeesh. If his drumming didn't fit the songs, fine, but they do and they do in a way that keeps the beat and is not distracting from the rest of the music, while also adding accents and flavour.Would you rather Charlie Watt (who is WAY worse of a drummer than Ringo) or maybe the other way, Buddy Rich, or Keith Moon. Their style would ruin the songs.Ringo may be the 4th best Beatle, but he's still a Beatle. Pretty tough competition in John, Paul & George. I can drum, but I can't drum like him. It's actually hard for me to show that much restraint.
kizanski Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Ringo is a tool. You never heard "Boo" from Charlie Watts.Rich and Moon were Gods. Keep their names out of your mouth.
cmatthes Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Whatever you do, don't ask him about Adrian Belew.
Lockbody Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Ringo is a tool. You never heard "Boo" from Charlie Watts.Rich and Moon were Gods. Keep their names out of your mouth. At least Ringo could have been in a different band. I love Keith Moon, but he was only a good drummer for one band.Unlike Ringo, Watts, or even Buddy Rich, you'd be hard-pressed to name one other band Keith Moon could've been the drummer for.
kizanski Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Drummers aren't musicians. They don't make music. Kiz, it's hard to take you seriously sometimes. The following is from one of your posts on the infamous Jerry Garcia 'rap's not music' thread; your words Bro: Kizanski said: "The DJs - the guys cutting & scratching on the turntables - are musicians. That's right, I said it. They're musicians just like any of us who dares to pick up a guitar or bass and attempt to make "music" (however we choose to define it) is a musician. They have a skill which requires hours, days, weeks, months and years of practice. It requires a sense of rhythm and timing, and it definitely requires a "touch," not unlike the touch one needs to express a note on his guitar one way vs. another. They're musicians making music." -Kizanski 26 August 2015 - 05:35 PM http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/72222-im-not-alone-apparently;-and-am-in-great-company/page-3 Kiz, you're killing me. You call guys that play records of other peoples music musicians, but Ringo isn't a musician; you've got to be stirring the pot, because you can't really be serious. I stand by my words, mostly because they are 100% accurate and because I said them. Perhaps that was redundant. DJs make music. Drummers make drumming noises and purcussion. Ringo is a tool.
Steve Haynie Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 So, Ringo is the 8th most talented Beatle. Right ahead of Yoko.So that pushes Ringo down to #9, and if we take into account Neil Aspinall playing harmonica that makes Ringo #10. Well, at least Ringo is in the top ten Beatles.
kizanski Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Clyde StubblefieldDrops mic.Clyde was/is a great drummer, but a drummer nonehteless.Pick up your fucking mic.
unfun75 Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Clyde StubblefieldDrops mic. Clyde was/is a great drummer, but a drummer nonehteless.Pick up your fucking mic.He created the beats that the DJ's are sampling.
MCChris Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Charlie Watt (who is WAY worse of a drummer than Ringo)
kizanski Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Clyde StubblefieldDrops mic. Clyde was/is a great drummer, but a drummer nonehteless.Pick up your fucking mic.He created the beats that the DJ's are sampling.True. However, STILL A DRUMMER!
Disturber Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Would you rather Charlie Watt (who is WAY worse of a drummer than Ringo) For x's sakes. Charlie is a KILLER drummer. That Ringo fella can't touch him. Charlie's got groove, he's just super funky and jazzy. Ringo is just stale and boring. They have nothing in common when it comes to style and swing. Charlie could probably do Beatles better than Ringo, but Ringo could not ever do a Stones song justice.
hamerhead Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Clyde played at my birthday party. I got to jam with him.All others can f*ck off.
kizanski Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Clyde played at my birthday party. I got to jam with him.All others can f*ck off. That's very cool.I hope you treated him better than JB did.
mc2 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Jol should've build Ringo a big bright Yellow Submarine guitar.
kizanski Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Jol should've build Ringo a big bright Yellow Submarine guitar. ...and smashed it over his head.
