Steve Haynie Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 I think the concept is ingenious. The bass has a built in shillelagh for those times the audience gets out of hand.
killerteddybear Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 I think those knobs are a reference to the upright bass origins. Looks fine on an upright and stupid on an electric. And who needs the extra neck dive??

stobro Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 I had a cheap upright bass with this pegbox. Apparently Framus sold an electric upright with a similar style. It must be a German thing, because my old bass was stamped "Made in Western Germany". It didn't have any other identifying marks.
Menehune Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 This is too easy. Any v-wing headstock Any reverse hockeystick headstock THIS misbegotten thing: And that Kelvin Daly's headknob? Makes a great muddler for a community mojito.

crunchee Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Carvin's pointy inline 12-string headstock yet. According to carvinmuseum.com, they only made them in 1988-9, which must've been the high-water mark for pointy guitars. It probably sounded like a better design in theory, but wound up in practice more like a nightmare: http://www.carvinmuseum.com/decade/88-guitars.html http://www.carvinmuseum.com/whatmodelguitar.html
kizanski Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Speaking of surprised... How is it that no one has mentioned this? Although i rather like this one.

Because I’m still trying to forget it ever existed... thanks for bringing it back up. First time I saw that I had hoped it was a product of photoshop.
velorush Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Does look like a photoshop mishap: This one has always been most appalling to me: mostly because the guitars receive generally great reviews. Why? Why?
scottcald Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 This one always just looked like something I could do. That's not a good thing.

Drew816 Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 If attacked on stage you're armed, and the back serves as a bottle opener. It's the Win/Win headstock from Ed Roman who everyone knows is the best at well, everything; so it must be great!
