Shishkov/Gravelin Pickup Batch 2021

Hi Everyone!

I'm about to get started on a Shishkov Guitars USA batch, ordered extra parts to meet my goldilocks-zone bulk parts discount, and with the extra parts..  the best and only cool move to make is to offer up a few sets of pickups at the sweet HFC pricing. I'll have enough parts on hand to do 7 sets of Shlabotnik (ULT sets, as Mike and I call them) or Charlotte in 49mm neck and 50mm bridge in the bobbin colors of your choosing. First come, first serve here at the specs of your choosing with either vintage style push-back braided leads, 2 conductor + ground, or 4-conductor + ground output leads.

Specs:

1. Handwound and assembled with the utmost in care, knowledge, and respect by yours truly, 50mm bridge, 49.2mm neck, early-Gibson PAF correct steels throughout, nickel silver frames, select roughcast Alnico 2 and 5 magnets: 90% of the parts made right here in the USA.

2: Shlabotnik (ULT) set is 50's inspired; a balanced low/medium output with Alnico 2 in both positions: clear, natural, and so responsive and dynamic at the neck, mids tweaked for stadium rock classic "sounds of early Hamer" on the bridge. This set will cover a very wide range of musical ground and does so in way that is Ultimately Musical and toneful with nearly any genre of electrified guitar music. 7.4k/8.7k

3. Charlotte set: Alnico 2 neck/Alnico 5 bridge: wound with a little more wire on the neck for super-sweet singing Clapton meets Gary Moore tones. The bridge pickup is Modern Vintage: output gain is strong, balanced, and even across the frequency spectrum: sounds like the best of examples of HOT PAF but hits harder and faster in a way that makes any amplifier light up in the most perfect way. 7.7k/10.8k

If you want covers: The ones I use are made in Nashville, TN. USA., nickel silver and expertly plated in either Nickel or Chrome, and are in my opinion the best ones on the market today. +$30.

All pickups are wax potted medium/light as standard: enough to retain the classic PAF snarl and feeling of "i'm about to take off now so hold on tight" with gain and at volume, but don't ever go nuts and squeal hard like a pig. 100% Deep Potting or no potting at all? Yes. Mention this and I'll do it.

$240.00 Priority Shipping in the Continental USA for Hamer Fan Club Members included! Again, If you want covers in Nickel or Chrome, +$30.00. If you want Gold, contact me and I'll price them out. And if you're not an HFC Paid Member: I mean really, this is the coolest guitar forum on the internet and you should join up RIGHT NOW. NOW! But if you can't or won't do it, add $15.00 to the order. Support the HFC for the Best Deal.

$240.00 No Covers, shipping included. HFC Paid Members Only. $270 Chrome or Nickel Covers, shipping included. HFC Paid Members Only.

$One Million Dollars$ if you're not an HFC member, delivered in person + dinner on me. Just kidding! $255 for non-HFC Paid Memberships, +$30 covers if you want them.

HFC superprobros/gals ♥

You can't get pickups this good at TWICE THE PRICE!

Kinda wish I had a place for more. I actually have a custom pair en route in the mail from Josh as we speak. I am really impressed with the detail with which he conjured up something special to my exact needs. I will say more once they are up and running. Make that, "up and purring".

Yes. I will sell neck or bridge as singles but the point of this post is Sets so expect a slight delay because I'll be ordering more parts to do these one-off requests. I build to order, am small - but mighty! - and this is how I do it at this moment.

Thank you django. Friday delivery as far as I can see on this USPS Tracking. Arriving soon!

When are the "Schlabotnik's By Gravelin" T-Shirts going to be available? ;)

I'd bite, but i'm saving up for another set of Tele Pickups. I think we are close to converting all my Tele's to Gravelin Pickups!

Can't say enough about the pups this fine young man winds.  I'm digging through my stack of guitars to find something that needs an upgrade to justify buying a set, but I think all my guitars have Gravelins in them already....

Maybe I need to buy another guitar....   Hmmmmm....

ETA - sign me up for a t-shirt too.  ...or a fleece.  : )

Shlabotnik logo done up with the Hamer font (whatever that is) would be badass!! I want this shirt. And a fleece too!

Young in spirit! I think we're the same age? 😆

Hmm...  I don’t need a set for my next project. It’ll be a single pickup but not sure which way to go yet...

Get these while you can, people. Josh makes the best pickups and all but one of my guitars are equipped with them.

But I’m definitely down for the t-shirt.

Yes! Great description. I have a set of ULT in my Studio Custom with Unoriented A5s. With some volume, it feels like takeoff is a nanometer away yet won’t squeal.

Who has Charlottes on a Studio Custom? Should I consider?

I tried working this up with Bookman Bold Italic font, but whatever variation that @Northfield came up with (with the swirly 'S') is really what should be used for maximum brand tie-in. 😏

I will put forth a request to Mr Northfield and his associates in this case. If I'm going to invest in shirts and wearables, just like with my pickups: everything must be perfect.

I guess if historical accuracy means anything, there's no 'c' in the man's name.

Good catch! Usually my spelling is pretty on point but I "C" this flew right past me. :)

I've got a set of Schlabotnics in a special and as I've stated before guitar players giggle when they pick that guitar up! And then want to buy it!!

Josh does it right! No doubt about that!!

Grace and Enola Shlabotnik are the best buckers in the entire world. Just perfect.

Plus Josh is a really cool dude. And generous.

I AM IN FOR ANY ANY SHLABOTNIK OR GRAVELIN SWAG!!!! I want one or two of everything.

I'll PM you. I've got your pickups in my Vanguard and my Korina Jr. I've got two more guitars I'm thinking about upgrading....
Oh, and of course I've got your pickups in my Shiskov.  :)

There are 2 sets left from these extra Shishkov batch run parts. A few people have ordered single pickups as well and as stated in a post above I will be needing to order a few extra things to accommodate those so if a couple more sets trickle in over the next few days, I'll make it happen. Get in touch!

I expect the turn-around time to be 3-4 weeks and will be mixing in these HFC sets with my Shishkov work-flow as is appropriate. I'll knock out the Charlotte sets first because I can wind solid runs of the same coils so it's possible that your pickups  may ship out sooner... 3-4 weeks though, just to be safe.

All the parts are in transit and I'll be starting on Monday. I can't wait! Thanks everyone.

All 7 sets have been spoken for. Thanks everyone!

I've been plugging away at it over here and making great progress with no issues or holdups at all and think I'll beat the 3-4 week turnaround that I predicted if I keep my pace up. Back to work now but I'll keep you posted for sure.
