It only runs for 6 days here - Feb 6-11, three shows per day. At least it was at the IMAX.

ETA: NO SPOILERS! Just got back from the theater - if you have even a passing interest in Led Zeppelin, GO SEE IT! It has a very 'feel good' vibe to it, the sound/mix is great (at the IMAX. The thunder in Bonham's foot.....), and it covers a lot of ground up through Led Zeppelin II. It is well paced and seems short for a 2 1/4 hour documentary. My wife, who is not really a huge fan or anything, said she could have watched for a couple more hours (that's really saying something!). I hope they do a 'Part II', covering the rest of the catalog. I'd go in a heartbeat. Go see it! 👍👍

I've never tried one, but those nubby things on the back there look like they'd get uncomfortable after awhile. Any 3" wide strap should help. I use padded ones ($20) on heavy guitars and unpadded ($10) on the light ones. They won't make a 10 pound Les Paul feel weightless, but it does make a difference.

A buddy just sent me this picture: I know nothing about Jacksons other than 2 minutes worth of Google searching and what he told me (it is a USA model). Anybody got the lowdown on these? Thanks!

MXR Rockman pedal video review, with Cali appearance
hamerhead replied to Jimbilly's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Fucking Pete Thorn. Hell yeah! The clean/chorus would be great for home recording - like Pete said - underneath other parts. I'm already hearing it in my head on some stuff I need to record. I think the way it compresses is a big part of it's charm. I've never chased the 'Boston tone' (other than the old cocked wha trick), but this thing definitely has some useful possibilities. I don't need another pedal. I don't need another pedal. I don't need another pedal. I don't need another pedal. I don't need another pedal. I don't need another pedal...... -
I get it, Steve. I'd hate to see it, too. But the fact is a lot of 'American' stuff is supplied by the lowest bidder, most of whom don't reside here. My wife sells test equipment to 'USA' automakers (and even Harley Davidson). What do they test? Parts from other countries. We used to make a lot of parts for the types of machines that my wife sells. At some point the companies making those machines thought it would be better to get their parts overseas. This went on for a number of years, until they figured out how horrible the quality control was and that it was costing them more to have us re-make all the stuff they couldn't use. Eventually 90%-95% of that work came back to us. Most people do just that, whether they realize it or not.

I had to look it up: What percentage of Corvette is made in America? While the Corvette's engines and transmissions are manufactured in the USA, the study's details show just 22% of Body, Interior, and Electrical is from the U.S./Canada for the Z06, and it's 19% for the Stingray. Dec 16, 2024 Since I don't know for sure where the seeds are from, I'm not sure if the salsa made from my own garden is 100% Made in USA. Still tastes better than what's in the store. Greed globally fucks everyone everyday. Why is any of this a surprise? It's ALWAYS been about the money.

I can't even pronounce it.

Saw it last night and thought it was good. Other than the name of a guitar store, I really didn't know anything about Norm's. The sheer number of collectable guitars he has is staggering. And I thought Dave's in LaCrosse had a lot! Holy crap! Having unknowns in the store jamming was cool. The Richie Sambora with the kid story was great. Could have done with less celebrities/wannabes and more guitar players. And I thought the Bonamassa connection could be an interesting turn. I hope he's doing OK health-wise.

Guitar Center/UPS Firebird Collaboration...
hamerhead replied to singlehum's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I was hoping singlehum would return to this thread to show the repaired guitars. How'd it come out, Bill? We need closure. -
....nope.....can't do it............

Is it bad that we're at the age where the first place I checked was the 'In Memoriam' thread? Not there. ETA: says 'Last visited: March 9, 2023'.

hamerhead replied to wil50n's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Nice grab! Can't believe it never sold for all these years. The Monaco Elite they have is drool-worthy, too: Love that finish.
