BCR Greg Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Yeah, he's nuts. He saw Camstone's Duotone that Cam and I dreamed up in a coffee-fueled tantrum, and he and I went in a slightly different direction, because I HATE to repeat myself! So, thanks to the influence of Camstone and Kilroy's trifecta...... A paitent man, ol' Skeleton boy. Thanks for letting me con you into this little article, buddy!
MCChris Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Nicest F-hole Duotone I've seen. I am loving the recent Hamer trend of matching the headstock to the body. Excellent!
BCR Greg Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 That's not a trend for Hamer, it's a trend from dealers begging!
Guest pirateflynn Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Hamer does a nice finish! They really stand out ....... Congrats!
BubbaVO Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 cool color. looks like a cran-berry tinged purple. Couldn't you talk 'em into a 3 hole with binding? Seriously, that's a great looking guitar. Tone report por favor.
atquinn Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Sirskelt, When you tired of that guit, you know who to call Seriously, that's gorgeous! -Austin
Camstone Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Congrats! That's a beauty and I am happy to have had a small part in the inspiration. Great color! The bad news is the rest of your guitars are going to get a lot less time out of the case. This configuration is beyond versatile. Has anyone done Duotone electronics on a chambered Standard?
HAMERMAN Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I am loving the recent Hamer trend of matching the headstock to the body.+1Congrats Sirskelt!
Brooks Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 nice! how does the arched maple top compare to a flat spruce top for acoustic tone?
tomteriffic Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Has anyone done Duotone electronics on a chambered Standard? Hmmmmmm, if they could get the bridge and pickup right..... Put me next in line if you decide it sux.
gwayne Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Love the color and everything else. Kinda reminds me of Badger's Artist Custom from a couple years back. Congrats on a beauty!!
sirskelt Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Thanks so much guys! I'll give a tone report when this amazing piece of artwork gets into my hands on Tuesday, just in time for our South by Southwest gig too! Thanks to unkagreg for making my dream a reality. I better have a difibrillator on hand when I open the case up for the first time!
HamerHokie Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 That is cool color. Sort of like wine red from Gibson. What does it consist of?
Caddie Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Is it just the lighting or is that top and headstock gently bursted? Hats off to the deft hands that did that. noonan
sirskelt Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 you see correctly... indeed gently bursted as I requested!!
hamertek98 Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 All I can say is .... sorry, no words! That color kills.
sirskelt Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 What can I say? She's even more amazing in person. Looks fantastic, plays fabulous and sounds great. Excellent tone on both electric and acoustic aspects. Much more full tone on the acoustic side than my 3 hole flat top so I'll need to do some tweaking on the "old" one! Hats off to BCR Greg for making this happen and going the extra mile to get her shipped to me in time for SxSW! I can't thank you enough!!
