Question

Hello Gents

A couple of years ago I signed on to get some info on an early Hamer I accquired. Well i'm finally getting around to doing this and I wanted some input from the Hamer pro's.

Lemme know what you guys think. Any and all suggestions are welcome !

Being the number of pictures allowed are limited I'll post the link to the ReRanch Forum thread.

http://reranch.com/reranch/viewtopic.php?p=304349#304349

As of Today I have routed the FB edge for binding and I have routed the FB for the Trap inlays.

I will need some help on a certain issue. When i milled off the top, like an IDIOT i forgot to make a template

of the cavity and the position of the holes for the 3 pots and switch.

Would any of you have this ?

Thanks for your help !

..Lou

No not yet, awaiting on Stike as he's suppose to hook me up for a Hamer logo as well !

No progress pics yet because the guys who's buying it told me to hold off on the finish.

I haven't talked to him yet so I don't know whats going on !

Thanks Batman !

Side Note: I used to ( many years ago ) sclupt and make Batman costume piece based on the movie suits.

Here's me in the "Clooney Suit" and the "Ice Suit" Clooney wore when he battled Freeze

Its been a slow going job but i'm making progress.

Body grain filled with a dark brown filler:

Raised the grain with water and after it dried I sanded it back to get it good and smooth.

Mixed up some Stew-Mac Colortone Vintage Amber in water and made it dark. Gave the top 3 coats of stain:

Let the stain dry, sanded it back and applied another 3 coats of the same satin only in a weaker solution:

Sprayed 3 coats of Sanding Sealer to the back and neck:

We'll let the sealer dry for a few days, sand it and than it's ready for clear. I may tint the clear with some more amber stain.

I'm so pissed I'm ready to scream !! :P:P

Spoke to the guy who's buying this last night and he says that he dosen't like the logo on the headstock.

He has in his posession a "Prototype" of one of these that was built by Joel D and Mr Hamer back when they first started out in Chicago.

I have seen pics of it so i got no problem believeing him. Well anyway, on his headstock the logo is much smaller and has the word "Sunburst" under the Hamer name. This guy thought that was the type of logo i was gonna put on there.

So anyway he told me to hold off on this guitar while he contacts Joel and a few other people to see if he can get the right logo for it.

LOOKS LIKE THIS IS COMPLETED AFTER ALL ! :P:(:P:(

Lou,

If the buyer you spoke to doesn't want it, you should have no problem selling it on the FS board here. Let's hope the original buyer comes to his/her senses.

Hamer DOES NOT HAVE, nor will they sell the old "Sunburst" smaller logo.

(Please don't let this become another Customer Service issue...)

:( :( :P :P

You did an amazing job on that one.

Lou - I may be chatting with you about something related in the next few days. I'm heading to Stevensville through Saturday night right now.

that is AWESOME.

I should mention, I never realized that the control covers were aluminum until this thread. Shows you how much I pay attention to my own guitars.
