MCChris Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 http://metaltalk.net/news2012/2012585.phpMetalTalk.net have just been informed by a reliable source that Sharon Osbourne has fired Bill Ward. If this turns out to be true, as fully expected, then it won't go down well with the Metal community.MetalTalk.net understands that Bill's replacement will be Tommy Clufetos from the Ozzy Osbourne band.Bill made a statement on Friday saying that his contract was "unsignable" and that his position was not "greed driven".The statement included the words: "I want a contract that shows some respect to me and my family, a contract that will honor all that I've brought to Black Sabbath since its beginning."Click here to read Bill's statement in full...Sabbath's response read as follows:"We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans... we have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open... We are still in the UK with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll... See you at Download!!!"- Tony, Ozzy and Geezer"
elduave Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Hopefully she'll fire Eddie Trunk from the newly formatted "Ozzy's" Boneyard on Sirius XM.
Steve Haynie Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Sharon and Ozzy "helped" Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake sue Sharon's father over unpaid royalties for five years. But that was five years after the Osbournes had attained all the rights to those recordings. Sharon knew she was causing Daisley and Kerslake to waste time and money on a lawsuit with the wrong person. Ozzy is not the devil. Ozzy is married to the devil.
devrock Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 This is really fucked up. DO NOT bill this as a Black Sabbath reunion when the original drummer is excluded. This has now become a fraud. But, sadly, I never expected this project to happen anyway.
Hamer95USA Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 The fact that Bill Ward put this statement to the public is going to show what a cutthroat manager Sharon Osbourne really is. This isn't the first she has done this to Ozzy's bandmembers. Jake Lee/Bob Daisly/Lee Kerslake/Zakk Wylde have all been taken advantage of by Sharon over royalties, song rights, etc. It's great that Ozzy/Sharon makes a lot of money, but at the expense of the other musicians who have helped contribute to Ozzy's success is completely wrong. Unfortunately, this is the dark side of the music business that musicians have to deal with. I hope that Bill Ward wins the respect/dignity/monetary compensation that is owed to him.Guitar George
princeofdarkness56 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Too bad Ozzy lost most of his mental capabilities years ago and now it seems his balls. Because he should have told Sharon these are the boys who have made everything posible in the first place so take a hike sweetheart because if push comes to shove I will pick Bill over you any day of the week.
Kurt L Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Too bad Ozzy lost most of his mental capabilities years ago and now it seems his balls.Seems like one from the "sad but true" file...
earachemyeye Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I suspected it right away when I read the news a few days ago. She is the Bill Parcells of the music biz. Just a parody of what a successfull person really is.
MCChris Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 If Iommi and Butler go through with this, they're either a.) just as bad as Ozzy and Sharon or b.) contractually enslaved to the aforementioned duo. Neither is a positive scenario. There's also talk that Ward physically wasn't up to the challenge, which isn't far fetched. But if that were the case, the whole thing should have been scuttled. Then again, I just downloaded the new Van Halen and I enjoyed Sonic Boom by Kiss, so I guess I don't really care about original lineups after all.
BlueRedWhite Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I don't despise a lot of people but this beach from hell have had trouble with everyone!I remember her feud with Iron Maiden and what she did on the concert they were together (a yearly concert, with lots of metal names, i don't remember exaclty)This woman is indeed the devil.
Scottcrud Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 This is sad, I'm glad I got to see the original lineup a few years back at ozzfest. When sabbath headlined, then Priest, then slayer. Best $80.00 I ever spent.
tbonesullivan Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Sharon is just as bad, maybe worse, than her father was as a manager. Strong arm tactics, and taking complete advantage of everyone else. Unfortunately, with RJD dead, they have no choice but to deal with her if they want one of the two "real" Black Sabbath vocalists to be involved. It's sad, but this is unfortunately how a lot of people get run over in the industry. Reminds me of the treatment Michael Anthony got from Van Halen.
Willie G. Moseley Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Menember when she stormed off of "America's Got Talent"? I think that may have been the show where the Elvis impersonator got three Xs before he was even allowed to perform....
lincsman Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I feel for Bill no loyalty at all, just think of all the time's he draged his gear over Birmingham in the early 60,s to help Back Sabbath get were they are today
hardheartedbill Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 The entire proposal is a debacle. Oz anything is about as unrock non- metal as it gets. Go see a real band in a club not this elderly version of jersey shore
zenmindbeginner Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 The Arden apple hasn't fallen far from the tree.At least she didn't kidnap and torture Bill Ward until he gave up the goods like her father did to his accountant.
tommy p Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 I think this is crappy too, but I'm going to cut the other originals some slack. Don't forget that Tony has just been diagnosed with cancer and he may be thinking about his friend Ronnie James Dio and how you never know when it will be your "last show" so to speak. Geezer and Ozzy may also want to spend some quality play time with Tony while they can. And of course, there is the money as a motivator for all involved. However, Sharon is a bitch plain and simple. How much money does she need? Why does she have to throw Ozzy under the bus every time to get it? From all that I've read about her and her father's ways of doing business, it's a wonder she hasn't met an unfortunate end.
zorrow Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 This can be interpreted ultimately as Ozzy, Tony and Geezer not supporting their old bandmate. Kind of sad and... low.
Rodan Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 After all Bill's been through personally and as a consequence of The Lifestyle, you'd think there'd be more compassion for their old friend. This smells especially bad, given his friendship and loyalty to Ozzy. Of course, Sharon thinks nothing of compromising the integrity of the band, where there's a last few bucks to be had. Sickening.
geobluto Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Sharon must go...first Iron Maiden fiasco, now Black Sabbath...ugh...
Steve Haynie Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Sharon Osbourne says she does not manage Black Sabbath, just her husband. Well, like zorrow and Rodan say-- Ozzy should be able to stand up for his old bandmate. Sharon still might be pulling the strings.
jwhitcomb3 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Wow! It's the He-Man Woman Hater's Club!
