blackfbiv Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 The Smiths - How Soon is Now. Something about this just intro kicks me into ultra-drive... lol Edited to add: I'm a tremolo-whore... it's sad but true!!!
rj2858 Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 First 2 choices are both great, but it's one of these 5. You choose which. www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0YrXjeRSoE www.youtube.com/watch?v=vO9rkumtdho
Bloozguy Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I can pretty much take or leave the remainder of the song, but the first 30 seconds nails it for me.
BubbaVO Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I remember hearing this for the first time ... nothing touches it ...
Turdus Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Best Zep drum ripoff with cool delay, and Stones like guitars!
Submariner85 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 About a minute but first time I heard this I was a teenager hanging out with my pothead friend. It was awesome.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5yR5XhCIegAbout 40 secondshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c9Le-TGZtk
Rodan Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Actually, this one's good for about 37 seconds, at least... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oZPTlI3MEo And I know - a "song" has to have lyrics...STILL -

raythewrench Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I like the sweet Jane intro ....only the rock and roll animal version... Lou reed wit Wagner and hunter it's a bit longer than 3o sec but it really jams. Or the beginning of ... For those about to rock... Ac/ dc.
veatch Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 20 posts and none of dis?http://youtu.be/0WzG64syKHA
crunchee Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I dunno what it is about intros with heavy drums...easy to remember, easy to recognize. I'm not a drummer, but I gotta admit to air-drumming these more than once. I'll bet I'm not the only one here that has! Edited to add: Maybe these aren't the best examples of what you get with the first 30 seconds of a song (the unedited guitar solo MAKES My Sharona, IMO), but they're as good as any as for how the intro sucks you into the song and won't let go.
