I knew Fane made a custom 24" speaker for Turbosound many years ago, but this is overkill !!

Tell that to Electro-Voice.

Um....No.

https://www.markertek.com/product/rdl-ru-ada8d/radio-design-labs-ru-ada8d-8-channel-stereo-audio-distribution-amplifier

I don't like RDL products, but it's the cheapest stereo 2x8 audio distro I could find in a short amount of time.

Also: Line level output from that Allen & Heath ZED mixer, not the headphone out.

Headphone outputs are at milliwatt to watt levels and unbalanced.

Line level inputs are are way lower and usually balanced:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Line_level

It would be much better to take a balanced out from the ZED mixer and feed a stereo distribution amp to drive all those feeds.

I remember when I worked at Peavey back in the mid-80s, the guys in the speaker lab were testing a new subwoofer transducer design. They had an enclosure built that was about the size of a standard refrigerator. They hooked up a signal generator and dialed it down to about 18Hz and cranked it up. At that frequency you don't really hear the sound, you just feel the pressure waves. Through the whole building. Where I was sitting it felt like a freight train was rumbling through the place.

I was at Stetson University in DeLand Florida back in the early nineties for my second bachelor's.  The Linn Business Center had a basement.  One of the professors had a government grant in conjunction with Bose Audio.  All he did was work on sub-woofer designs.  His "lab" was right below the computer lab.  I can remember being there late hours and my chair reverberating, but no sound.  Met the guy one night.  He told me that I'd see a day where a small box hidden in the corner of the room would replace my Polk Audio state of the art speakers.  He was right.  He also told me that there wouldn't be any need for CD's.

Bogus list - no list of classic rock one-liners is complete without the Gene Simmons line "Gonna put my log in your fireplace."

Burn Bitch Burn
Kiss

Well it's out of the fryin' pan and into the fire
You're bent over, baby, and let me be the driver
A just a cut of pink, wouldn't believe me if I told you
But this time you bit off more than you can chew

My, my, yeah
Just listen to this, babe

I got nasty habits, it's a fine line
So many girls and so little time
When love rears its head
I wanna get on your case, oh yeah

Oh babe, I wanna put my log in your fireplace
Ooh maybe, baby, you wanna get played

Burn bitch burn, ooh
Burn bitch burn, ooh
Burn bitch burn, ooh
Burn bitch burn

Yeah!

It's an act of trust and anyway you slice it
No sticks and stones, no kicks and groans can hide it
So why kid yourself, it's so cut and dry
Baby, your body's condemned and figures don't lie

I gotta cover my class, want to sit up and beg
Gotta keep my tail between my legs
You're cuttin' off your nose to spite your face
Oh babe, gonna put you in your place

So burn bitch burn, ooh
Well, the heels are stacked now
Burn bitch burn, ooh
And there's nothin' you can do
Burn bitch burn, ooh
So don't burn your bridges
Burn bitch burn
We're all through

We are all through, baby
So just burn

Well the heels are stacked against you
Don't burn your bridges, we're all through
Hey babe and there's nothin' you can do

Burn bitch burn, ooh
And there's nothin' you can do babe
Burn bitch burn, ooh
We're all through
Burn bitch burn, ooh
Burn me, burn me, baby
Burn bitch burn, yeah

Burn bitch burn, ooh
Burn me, burn me, baby
Burn bitch burn, ooh
Burn bitch burn, ooh
Burn bitch burn, ooh, yeah

Hilarious side note…

At the exact moment I opened this thread, the end of AC/DC’s “Long way to the top of you wanna rock n roll” was finishing up. My 7-year old said to me: “that was a lot of noise”…

I told him those were the bagpipes. He asked me what bagpipes were. And as I explained them, I just happened to look down into my hand on my phone and saw this cartoon strip staring back at me. 😂😂😂

Ask Joe Walsh what his fondest guitar-related memory is and he’ll tell you of the day his first guitar, a Sears and Roebuck Silvertone, arrived at his doorstep. Ask Joe Walsh about his worse guitar-related memory and you get this: “Falling out of a tree and breaking the neck of my Gibson Les Paul.” It was, at least, a fall that taught him not to venture into trees with nice guitars, which is perhaps one of the most valuable lessons a guitarist can learn.
