Brian May is known for his Red Special, which he plays 99% of the time. However, he has already played other guitars:

Any pics of other iconic guitarists playing other than their iconic guitars?

Yes, I know he used one live on Money for Nothing, but he will never be associated with it.

Not exactly shredder ESPs, but then, George is more complex player than casual observers might realize.post-110429-0-12691000-1422838789_thumb.post-110429-0-02706400-1422838808.jpgpost-110429-0-50358500-1422838828_thumb.

Again Brian May, but now with a Les Paul:

I've been trying to find pics of Michael Schenker with anything other than a V. That seems to be an impossible task. I just found the following one, but it's just him trying Siggi Schwarz's LP at home:

It would be interesting seen Michael Schenker playing a Strat or something. :)

Carl, that top pic of Alex is photoshopped. Look at the difference in angle between the body and neck.

It just goes to show that it wasn't the gear that made these guys great. They made great music with just about anything you placed in their hands.

ETA: always thought this was an interesting amalgam (Blind Faith era) - Strat neck on a Tele body

^Oh! That cannot be true! I'm... just... scandalized. Shocked. Dazed and confused. For real.:blink:

It's a '51 'Nocaster' that was among the guitars sold at auction after his death. There was also a Richie Sambora Strat and a '77 Tele. The Nocaster is on page 384-385 of the auction catalog (still online) and the other two Fenders were on prior pages.
