JGravelin Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Because I love the HFC...I'm in the middle of building 18 more Shlabotnik humbucker sets for those who'd like to get in on some of the fun. Same top-shelf parts and wire, wound and assembled by hand, and a quick, partial wax potting - exactly the same as what's in the The Ultimates. Your choice of output lead wire: vintage style braided single conductor or 4-wire + ground. For HFC Forum members with a paid, Supporter membership I'm offering a special price on these:$210.00 per set, or $105.00 each-or-$260.00 per set or $130.00 each for non-supporting members. + $7.00 shipping/insurance to anywhere in the lower 48 USA, contact me directly for shipping elsewhere. Payment is to be made in full at the time of ordering with Paypal, US Postal Money Order, or Personal Check. These will ONLY be available through the HFC and it's a limited run so if you'd like a set, please IM me. Happy to do custom builds also, for those of you who want something different!
mrjamiam Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 IM you? But I don't have AOL! Let's try this new-fangled PM thing instead.
The Shark Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Sent you a PM, Josh. They'll be going in this one that I think Mike had a hand in...
JGravelin Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 The first 6 sets have been spoken for - 12 more left. Wow!PM/IM/ICQ/BBS - just get in touch because they're going way faster than I expected. Seriously though, just PM me here. I'm on top of it.Shark! Soundclips please, when they're in. That guitar looks killer and I'd love to hear it! What a stunner.
django49 Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I do not yet know WHAT these will slip into, but I am sure it will be something good!
JGravelin Posted April 23, 2015 Author Posted April 23, 2015 Thanks to Hamerhead, there's 7 sets still available. At this rate, I might need to start planning for another batch!
soli'd Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I don't currently have any humbucker guitars, and the one I have coming will already be Shlabotnik'd, so I don't need any at this time, but I'm glad to see this happening. Reminds me of another recent runaway product- next thing you know you'll be making 48 sets...
devrock Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Damn. Wife and I gotta cut back on expenses for a few months. Would LOVE a hot set.
JGravelin Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 Phat Cats sounding thinly? Before you plunk down money on pickups, check the resistance value of your pots. With a Phat Cat, 300K pots - or even a 250k on the bridge Volume will tame that thinly sound and introduce more lows into the tonal equation. The 'buckers I built for Mike might suit your pots better, but as a musician, pickup builder, and all around guy who knows about such things, it would be unethical for me to suggest you spend hundreds on new pickups when spending 8 to 12 bucks on the right pots could be all it takes to put a smile on your face.Strings, pots, picks, cables...the little things we don't even consider all play a part in what "tone" is and pots are so, SO often overlooked! It's all got to work together.
JGravelin Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 Every amp has a sweet spot where all the good things happen and I'm glad you got it sorted without spending monies. That's always the best way!
hamerhead Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 This is the first new set of pickups I've bought in probably 5 years. It was Mark's clean clips and all of the extremely positive reviews from you lunkheads that sealed it. I'm genuinely excited to give these a go.
cmatthes Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Paid for a special set for a very special guitar.Looking even more forward to getting this one back up and running now!
