SOLD!

2016 Model Gibson Les Paul Standard. Honey Burst. As-new condition. I am the original owner. I bought it from my local authorized dealer-Wildwood Guitars out here in CO. Not a mark on it anywhere. 100% original – nothing touched or changed. I waited for a killer top and when this came in, I instantly grabbed it from them. There aren’t many with a nicer, more even, wide-flame top anywhere!

The 2016 models are just great guitars, back to the way they should be. No more goofy LesPaul100 headstock and those horrible Robotuners.

Plays perfectly, Plek’d from Gibson. Great weight too at 8.7 lbs. Features: 2 Burstbucker p/u’s. Push/Pull Controls for coil split, Out of Phase and tone Bypass. Tons of great tones.
Slim-taper neck with 10-16” compound radius. Locking tuners.
Locking bridge too. Comes with its original Gibson hardshell case and all Case Candy – when you open the case, you’ll think it was brand-new.

SOLD!

BEAUTIFUL LP, but I'm still at a loss for how Gibson sells 2016 guitars in 2015! :D

Why not? I mean they continue to sell 1954, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1960 Les Pauls, year after year......

They're making, selling, and apparently marketing them now, like car companies have been doing to automobiles for years. Which to me explains a lot.:lol:

Edited to add: Now that I think about it, I think it's because Gibson wants everybody to forget about most of the 2015 model year 'innovations'. ;)

Hi there, re your Gibson, if you are not taking any trades, why would you post it on a Hamer forum? We are Hamer fans, join a Gibson forum and surely you've got more chance of selling it on that.

Best of luck.

So, they've changed their serial number config?

First 2 digits is the model year?

Yes. According to Gibson advertising, it's supposed to "enhance collectibility."

And why would a newbie make their first post trying to denigrate a well respected, long standing member of the community?

Nice to meet you, too...

I'd buy it but I can't handle the fuchsia case lining... :D

Seriously, that is one fine looking guitar.

Can't understand the 2016 part. Nearly raises suspicions of a Chibson. I know it's not but our experiences always have been the year being 'the' year of manufacture. And the serial is off center. I can imagine the offset being the year digits. Or, should I say 'post' year digits. Fail at trying to clarify things if that's the case. Maybe they gain by keeping the guitars in stock 'current' longer, and not becoming 'last year's' models? Beautiful guitar nonetheless. GLWTS!!!

You do realize that Ernie obscured the last two digits of the serial, don't you?

Posted

Yeah, i just blurred it. I've never had any issues showing serial numbers, but you never know. There are some people who steal the pics and fraudulently list bogus guitars.

The 2016s have been in stores for a month or two now. Maybe they're trying to mitigate the 2015 model year debacle?

Before this thread gets too far off track. They've been doing this (putting the "model" designation under

year on the headstock) for at least three years...

The serial IS centered. Ernie just blurred out the last few digits.

If the Chinese were putting out this kind of product I'd be laying down $350 right now and Gibson would be going out of business. That's one fine looking guitar.
