So the Taylor Swift / EVH thread got me thinking, about the variety of female guitar players.  There does seem to be more, so who would you say is worthy of going to see?   Who is your current top ten female guitar players?

Links and or videos are appreciated.

This is a very difficult task!

Wow, since this is blistering with replies, at the very least I can name the ones I have seen in the past couple of years.

Lzzy Hale - Halestorm - Definitely going to see Lzzy again.
Lita Ford - Solo Artist
"Nancy" Wilson - Heart (thanks Biz Prof!)
Joan Jett - Solo Artist - First time to see Joan Jett live, entertaining and you would know most of the songs.
Gretchen Menn - Zepparalla Enjoyed seeing this act enough to go see them again.   If Gretchen would play solo, I would go.  http://www.gretchenmenn.com
Orianthi - Solo Artist
Susan Tedeschi - Tedeschi Trucks Band http://tedeschitrucksband.com/
Ana Popavic - Solo Artist  http://anapopovic.com

Coming Up
Chrissie Hynde - The Pretenders, opening for Stevie Nicks and have seen a couple of times.

Who I Missed this year
Jennifer Batten on the Uli John Roth/Batten/Timmons Tour.  http://www.batten.com

Going to Pass
Annie Clark - St. Vincent
Just not my cup of tea.

So who is out there that I have missed?  Bonnie Raitt I have seen multiple times.

Ann Wilson - Heart

You're list is essentially identical to mine (great minds, you know?); save for Ann. Personally, I prefer Nancy. ;)

The only other comment I'll make in response to the OP is: If this doesn't make you want to play guitar, then you're probably a lost cause:

Donna Grantis.  If you can hang with Prince, you can hang with anyone.  This was on her solo album before Prince, and Prince repurposed it as the title track for Plectrumelectrum.

I ran across Mimi Fox videos a few years ago.  I never got around to buying one of her CD's though.  Lullaby Of The Leaves is a cool song from the 1930's or maybe the 1920's.  She really did a good job of exploring the possibilities with that song.

I still love Nancy Wilson!  From afar, due to the restraining order....

While at the King Biscuit Blues Festival a couple weeks ago I saw a fantastic KC blues band called Katy Guillen and the Girls.

Katy rocked a Tele really well through an ancient Hiwatt combo that was dark chewy grindage. The drummer played Bonham's style better than Bonham did.

so Katy Guillen is on my list along with Nancy, DEBBIE DAVIES, Carolyn Wonderland, Joanne Shaw Taylor.....those are my faves.

During Ken Jones' memorial, one of his old friends/band mates spoke about how he and Ken became friends and then to play in a band together.

He said (and this is a direct quote), "Ken was a huge fan of bands like Cheap Trick and Frank Zappa, and he could speak endlessly about their entire catalog and why he loved their music so much.

But he also liked some good bands, too..."

I felt I had a comrade whom I had never met.

Debbie Davies played with those old blues guys.  She never could have gotten away with "playing like a girl."  I was running the PA system when she played a festival.  You could tell she was taught how to play the blues RIGHT.

I liked Heart OK until someone gave me an extra ticket, after I saw them Live I was very impressed with the band and subsequently saw them several times in concert during the 1980's; so Nancy Wilson gets a nod as a favorite.

Likewise after I saw Susan Tedeschi play before an Allman Brothers concert at the Beacon Theater I became a fan and I have seen her live a few times, great player and she can sing as well.

I also really like Grace Potter, she may be more of a performer who plays guitar as opposed to a "guitar player" but I like her anyway.

Bonnie Rait.

The only female guitarist I follow with any regularity is Nita Strauss.  Beyond her I'd just be throwing out names.

I own an Ana Popovic cd that I listened to once.  I can't name ten female guitarists and Popovic still falls short of the cut.

Edited to add: Samantha Fish has popped up a few times for me on Facebook.  She seems pretty talented but hasn't made me drive straight to the record store the first time I heard SRV on the radio.
