Mobster Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Lots of months in the making. At first , Frank U refused to make this...it took some real begging from me and Al to get him to finally approve it. I was originally going to get a solid flame maple body and no binding (which they also approved for me), but I figured the guitar would weigh too much and sound way too bright, so I went with my old favorites-Mahogany 1 piece body with a maple top. Specs are: 1 piece mahogany body Ultimate grade flametop Maple neck Black Hardware BIG neck Floyd Rose (!!!) Inlaid logo Reverse headstock (!!!) Crowns w/ 1st fret inlay Ebony fingerboard Black binding on body and neck (!!!) Sustainiac Stealth Plus System (!!!) Moved pickup selector to upper "horn" (yes!) Duncan 59 in the bridge I'll take some better pictures this weekend. I just rushed home from work to shoot a couple of pics quickly, and now I'm heading out for a bit. Thanks to Al for talking to the powers that be and getting them to agree to do this for me. Ask and you shall receive. This is a hard guitar to photograph!
Mike_C Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Reverse headstock and a floyd?!?!???!? Damn I thought they wouldn't do that. That guitar is SICK MAN SICK.
cmatthes Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 That's freakin' HIDEOUS!! Wait until you get a sharper late-afternoon sun angle, like 45 minutes or so before sundown - it'll pop a lot better then.
BrianM Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Mobster,That is just too sick, and way too cool. You definitely outdid yourself on that one. Congrats and enjoy!BrianM
tomteriffic Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Sheezus, Mobbie! Even in Nevada you may need a concealed carry permit if you want to put that thing in a case!
anotherfreak2 Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 makes me think of find Dave Sabo's blitz!Rock on!!!!!!!!
Mobster Posted March 30, 2005 Author Posted March 30, 2005 Holy F**K! It's 1983!!!! Damn right! But it's still gonna get PLAYED!
Mobster Posted March 30, 2005 Author Posted March 30, 2005 Does it have a maple or mahogany neck? Maple neck...gotta have it with the Floyd, IMO.
Hunter_Brown Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Damn right! But it's still gonna get PLAYED! I think it's you that got played. Just kiddin...nice guitar.
jisham Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Who said Hamer doesn't make shredders any more? Great score Greg! WOW!!!
Brownsound Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 ....Man....that guitar takes me back! *sigh* Big hair, big parties....and scantily clad chicks....with big hair....
serial Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Wicked indeed. I've been waiting for someone to answer the challenge tossed out several years ago by Hamer to have someone actually ORDER a Floyd! That reverse headstock makes the thing!
Brewmaster Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 WOW! I confused. JUst about everything I thought they wouldn't do anymore is on that guitar. Is Jack's dream Chap far behind?
marcnorth Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Very nice one Greg. The reverse headstock is killer. That color looks good with the black binding.Enjoy!!!
elduave Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Damn dude. Kudos to you and Al for persistence. WAY cool!
LordOfTheThighs Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 BAD ASS!!! I just noticed: the pick-up selector location....SWEET
Lockbody Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Very nice. Just from the few days I've had my standard, I can see the usefullness of where you had them put the selector switch. Still getting used to it, though.
AXEMAN Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 If Hamer can do this then they can build anything you want.TIME+$$$=ANYTHING
AdmiralB Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 Very slick. Bet it cost a damned fortune too!Why a Floyd II and not an Original? How come no F-spaced bridge pickup?Cosmetically that's awfully hard to find fault with.
BTMN Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 I LOVE Everything on it but the selector swtch. Very Sweet! Back shot please.
