You nailed GC! I bought two of PAFs guitars from GC. The Mark YOUNGER-SMITH arrived in a Hamer Rectangle case with a Registration SN card. I reached out about getting the correct case, and they never replied. About two weeks later, I purchased the TLE Elite from the Book, Bound w Boomers and it arrived in a Shaped Case with MYS in Sharpie on the Case. In the end, luckily, I received the correct case for each guitar.

I commend your willingness to put it back together and put it in someone else's hands. Why part it out after going to the trouble of buying it?

That's Manchester, NH... I'm 5 minutes away from that place and happy to check out stuff for anyone. but if I can speak franky. not that I picked it up but I just have a policy of avoiding guitars with some sketchy corporate logo. I can't help but laugh of the story Jol told when met his idol (Peter Green) and he said "Ahh, yes, the Miller guitar!!!" that's what he's remembered for??? lol

For what went into creating that guitar, it was sad seeing it parted out. It is good knowing it is whole again.

Although I shouldn't, I have returned to looking at (for) guitars on Reverb. Some of the listings announce that the offering is in someone else's cart already, but days later it's the same thing. One of them was in a cart for days, and when I checked just now it's in two more carts. What is meant to be achieved by this? It doesn't seem that someone was shopping, meant to make a purchase and then saw a squirrel. I'm thinking it's a signal or a strategy of some kind. Can anyone enlighten poor simple me, whose process is "see guitar, like guitar, buy guitar"? I'm not much into gaming systems, although I know that it happens.

Good day all! I'm going to sell my 2006 Hamer Standard (6 55072). I'd like to get $7000 for it. Plus $100 for shipping. It was signed by Rick Nielsen and the person I got it from (Brian Grilli, singer/songwriter in Va Beach) stated that it was from Rick's personal collection and the signature was the result of it selling at a charity auction. I know some hate that it is signed but the signature will easily buff out. Attached are the pics I have. If interested, I can send more detailed pictures. I needed a powerful quiet small stage fan for an outdoor gig. Looked around and my son had a fan he'd been using in his bedroom to help him sleep. Very powerful really quiet! So I order the non pedestal version from Amazon. Not cheap, but it is well built. It worked fantastic. It creates a tunnel of moving air. It saved the day for me in this Florida heat and humidity. So for those that are tired of fan noise on stage this actually works. Obviously louder as speed was increased, I found the 2nd speed to be ample and that is barely audible. Sorta New Former Guitar Day. I snagged the Ha Ha Cali body and the accompanying Butala neck a week or so back. I put this together about 10 years ago or so and was especially pleased with the graphic I designed for it. It bothered me that somebody had parted it out. So, I put her back just as she was. Not sure I'll hang on to her. She plays and sounds great but I sold her for a reason and not sure anything has changed. I guess I just wanted to have her whole again and put her in the hands of someone who will actually value and play it.

Why buy it after going through the trouble of parting it out? Kidding. I would have (and have) done the same thing.

Head game. You see it in another cart and say, "Oh shit, I have to buy this right now before some other schmoe gets it." Ebay bidding is the same deal - you'll exceed your max (and often the value of whatever it is) just to 'win'.

Definitely no slouch, but I felt a little sorry for him because it always seemed like whoever the "other" guitarist in Thin Lizzy was at any given time was the better player. These pics are from that "Thin Lizzy" tour when John Sykes fronted the band (so long ago I still had 'some' hair), him being one of the guitarists I referred to in the previous sentence. You can't compete with that guy.

That actually was the case for me too when I developed some hand issues around 2012. I did work past the issue. Around 2023, I developed new hand issues. I’m still trying to work through them, but for now it’s thin necks that provide comfort. Funny how that goes. As to string gauges, I’m down from 11s to 9s on 25.5, and 10s on 34.75. I adapted fairly quickly, but I did come from the land of 9s prior to going with 11s. This is also due to hand issues, and it’s been helpful.

Thirty-ish years ago my brother came home from college and went and had a beer with one of his buds who'd not gone to college. The friend said he had a surprise and pulled up his shirt sleeve to reveal a tattoo. It was a Confederate flag with a banner below that read "Rebal" My brother asks (loudly and obnoxiously, no doubt). "REE-BALL? What the hell is a REE-BALL?" To which the friend argued, "no, no, it's REB-ull." "That's not how you spell that..." This was met with prolonged silence.

I liked the post because it's great to hear someone with a positive attitude pushing forward with his life. Good on you sir as they say... I felt a little weird about the 'like' though; I like that he's positive but not that he's facing the challenges in the first place. It's like Netflix asking me after I've watched a documentary about Nazi Germany or the Holocaust. If I rate the documentary with a 'like' will that endorsement get me onto a watch list? I don't like the atrocities but the documentary was well done.
