I f**king like it.

A lot. A god damn road warrior.

The stories, if it could talk.....

Is this what it used to look like, when new? B&W Standard. Reminds me of Dez Dickersons Standard.

Seems like head was broken and repaired

Surprising, considering he took such good care of it.

When the last couple of 4 digit Standards have been asking 10-15k, I guess 5 grand for a relic is "not too bad" 😜

Probably ought to have an almost full pic of this. For prosperity purposes, you know.

I think that the technical term for a photo like this is 'Exhibit A'.   Talk about a crime scene!

In all honesty, if you have the skills and A LOT of time, "rubber gloves", you can remove all the stickers and paint, De-Kahlerize, put a new top on her and could make a little bit of cash out of that... retention of the 4 digit numbers is what's going to help you sell that bad boy down the road

Just make sure you're current on all your shots 🤣

Maybe a long way down the road, but at $5150 (apropos price for a lunatic) there isn't a whole lot of money to be made after you re-top and repaint.
When you're done you'll have a refinished 4-digit with a headstock repair.
Factor in what it would cost to get you there and you're losing money.

Sure, but Jay's time isn't free.
He'd be better off spending his time repairing/building something for a client than hoping to recoup what looks like 10 hours of his professional time.

Unless your point is that the person with the skills would fix it and keep it, but you said "make a little bit of cash" out of it.

The guitar is trash. The owner saw to that.

FFS... just think of it as a personal project that you can sell whenever you decide to complete it, whether it be a year or 10 years from now... just escape to the garage, watch some football,  Have a beer.... pull some stickers off one weekend... another weekend, fill the Kahler hole... yada, yada, yada...

It's not trash, if the neck is straight and the truss rod is still working

I will bet you you will see this guitar for sale in 1 to 3 years all fixed up with a vague description 🤣

No argument there.  I just don’t think anyone is making a dime off of it at that price of entry.
