Sounds like it was their son who battled drug addiction, homelessness…

Damn.

I’ve been a huge fan of Rob, his work and his constant voice of reason.

Very sad…

This is terrible news.. he made people happy for 50 years and this is how his story ends?    The world has gone mad.

Terrible that he and his wife are dead, horrific how it happened. I don't remember much about All In The Family but loved all the movies he did. I can rewatch Spinal Tap and Princess Bride in particular an infinite number of times.

Just got around to watching Spinal Tap II, which I guess is now his final film. Was it as good as the original? IMHO, no, but it was still great.

I heard about that, hopefully they are able to complete it without Reiner.

In other news, I am seeing reports that Nick Reiner was diagnosed with Schizophrenia weeks before the murder, and was having issues with his meds, which is probably why his parents were keeping close tabs on him.

"When all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed. I have it all and I have no choice but to. I'll make everyone pay and you will see. You can kill yourself now, because you're dead in my mind. I was born into this, everything turns to shit. The boy that you loved is the monster you fear."

"Remember when you were young?
You shone like the Sun

Now there's a look in your eyes
Like black holes in the sky

You were caught in the crossfire of childhood and stardom
Blown on the steel breeze
Come on, you target for faraway laughter
Come on, you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine"

Roger Waters used to be an incredible Wordsmith.

Yes, and watching Syd Barrett unravel had a profound effect on him and the rest of the band, as well as their songwriting. Roger had first met Syd at an art class a few years before they turned ten years old. David Gilmour met Syd a few years after that. They all got a front row seat to the mental illness show, and it sucked.

Yes, You can tell it left a mark. It's kind of odd, but a lot of bands back then met each other in art school. Alice Cooper formed from an art class with Vince and Dennis. I think Glenn and Mike may have been in the same school. Can't remember. The Who is another one. And I think the Stones. Small towns back then I suppose. My first exposure to PF was Animals, Basically three songs on vinyl. "Pigs on the Wing," to me was a Prelude and an Epilogue. I remember buying it because they were playing it at the record store. I had to have it. It was Christmas break and I listened to it maybe twice the night I got it. Then we all got together, may six or eight of us from the hood, I was 15, and we jumped some creek, ended up in the woods by a lake, made a big bonfire, and slept under the stars. All I could think about that night were those three songs. All through high school that album either brought me closer to committing suicide or kept me from it. I'll never know.
