JohnnyB Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 2 Evidence Audio Lyric cables and my old Baker B1 back.Yep. Mogami Gold is the gateway drug. I found that out with the Zaolla Silverline. Easily worth the extra money.
larry Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Hey man, I was in Fatsound yesterday picking up my new Taylor 514ce and Mike showed me your guitar. He said I had to see it. I just looked and didn't touch. Didn't want to put my fingerprints all over it. That thing is amazing!!! What a stunning guitar. When are you picking it up? If that sounds half as good as it looks, you'll have a keeper, for sure.larry...thanks! well, there are 2 issues... i ordered a custom case for it and it's not ready yet... and i wanted to have it shipped during my Christmas vacation (which starts after this friday!) so i can be at home when it's delivered. so that's what the waiting is all about. mike said if the case isn't ready soon, he'll just ship it to me in another case and trade cases later... but i'd rather try to wait for the case to be ready so both pieces can be shipped together.thanks for checking it out though! so, you're saying i might have to wipe off some of your drool when i get it? lol... that's ok... mike's drool is on it as well!I was very careful not to drool on it. I was too preoccupied with my new purchase. Mike did tell me about the custom case. Do you live in NC? If so, I'd love to get together with you to jam and hear your new git.
grahams98 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I bought a tele and AC15 but my best purchase was a Fulltone OCD Pedal because my new toys didn't sound right until I got the OCD. I have a drawer full of 'less than' pedals as souvenirs of that search.
moozak Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Very good year for me. I try to get one guitar a year. This was supposed to be it (and is my "best of '09"): But also ended up with this from Ernie: And this monster from Greg (Greg's pic below): On top of that, got an Egnater Rebel 20 which ended up being my go-to amp for the small gigs (which is about all i do anymore...) A good year indeed. I think 2010 will be the year of sales. Need to replenish the music fund... hey veatch... is that a Germino Masonette by any chance? if it is... i just bought one myself... i should have it soon!
veatch Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 hey veatch... is that a Germino Masonette by any chance? if it is... i just bought one myself... i should have it soon! The Germino is a Rock Grinder. KT-66 power amp with a Blues Breaker tone stack. Very challenging amp to play. Love it long time, i only wish i had the types of gigs that i could use a 45 watter.
burningyen Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Wow, just a beautiful color! And very accurately named!
gorch Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Apart from Hamer guitars I bought this year, I think this is the best. VOX AC15H1TVL
Hgb5000 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Definitely this, by a wide margin. Love at first strum. -Austin Of course its still for sale, or maybe already sold
atquinn Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Of course its still for sale, or maybe already sold Well, now that it's famous, I'll be asking top dollar http://digital.premierguitar.com/premiergu...201001_1/#pg211 Seriously, this is one of the best guitars I've ever played. -Austin
Kramer_nut Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 MY best purchase this year was my Sabmora Strat from Greg at BCR!!! Changed the floyd and the bridge pickup and now she is in heavy rotation! Thanks Greg
sonic1974 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Very good year for me. I try to get one guitar a year. This was supposed to be it (and is my "best of '09"): I think this is one of the coolest looking guitars I've ever seen!!!
lord nelson Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Got this little thing. It almost got smashed to pieces when a PAspeaker fell down on stage. Broke off the PU-switch. Also got the new Line 6 Relay wireless system and the HBE psilocybe.
lesterpaul Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 well, I scored a Boogie MK V to compliment my other marks, BUT THE #1 purchase has to be my DECIMATOR PRO RACK G-don't know how OR why I have gone so long without one-the difference is incredible-no more hum period!no more buzz period!a must have in my book
backinit Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Interesting thread topic. I've though about all the gear I have acquired this year and the amount is incredible by my standards. Lets see, 3 electrics 1 bass 1 tube stack 1 bass stack 1 combo amp (acquired through trade) 1 effects rack unit 3 pedals 1 power amp 1 mixer mains stands... there is some misc stuff like a tele neck and microphones that are probably not worth mentioning, but for some reason I am...the number one purchase was Mr Pointy.. Got this little thing. It almost got smashed to pieces when a PAspeaker fell down on stage. Broke off the PU-switch. Talk about some serious RR vibe...nice one.
Hamer_SS_guy Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 My only purchase this year was an Ampeg V-4B head. For next year I hope to get an old Gibson J-185 EC Blues King or a Gibson Chet Atkins CE.
lord nelson Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Talk about some serious RR vibe...nice one.Indeed. I bought it because I sold my polka dot V. Had to maintain the Rhoads equilibrium
Sentinel Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Beside my three Hamer's (bought earlier) I felt I needed an ordinary (!) guitar also. So in April I got myself a classic one - a brand new Fender American Standard Strat! It's great!
gwayne Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 New to me 2005 Triple Threat. I added SD Antiquities and it is perfect:
gregc Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I got a 2nd hand Bogner Ecstasy 101B in a trade. It turned out to be a good match for me and is the 'most used' amp I have now.I picked up a new Hamer Tally/ very cool, and a used Phantom Custom which got played more than anything else this year. Go figure. I also acquired a new Parker Fly in a trade.... most original and very cool, and a 66 Ampeg Reverborocket combo (I couldn't turn it away for $300, loaded with some pricey, vintage tubes. All in all, a good year. Oh yea, I forgot,,, I ot a new trumpet; a Yamaha Zeno Bf. Awesome horn!
wrxplayer Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Mid year I decided I wanted to find the perfect strat style guitar for me. I likely owned six strats in my search. A Suhr S2 was close, in the end was too modern. Had a couple of Melancons--wonderful guitars but each had something that made me want to keep looking. In October I picked up a Grosh Retro Classic with Grosh pickups and a big neck with a beatiful, dark Brazillian rosewood fingerboard. This is for me the "perfect strat". My guitar swapping days are far from over but I can say that I'll never need to swap this one in search of a better guitar for the vintage strat tone.
Uncle Thor's Hamer Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 This has been a good year for me. Lots of nice toys were added. The top of the list is an Adamas 2080 guitar. It's a carbon fiber topped acoustic made by our friends at the Ovation factory. The liveliness and sensitivity of the top is incredible, forcing me to be a better player. Also on the list are two Digitech Hardwire pedals, one chorus and the other a tuner. Plus a real pedalboard with power supply to put them on. And the Fender Super Champ XD amp with Ragin' Cajun speaker upgrade.Next year will be very different, with two in college and one in private high school. I'll be selling, not buying, toys.
burningyen Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I'm not getting rid of my Strat, but those Groshes are purty!
