jaydee Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I didn't notice an introductory section, so I thought that I'd jump in here.I tried a while back to join, from what I gathered, the board was down then.Well, a little about me.Originally from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.I've been working in the mining industry for 20+ years. The job took me away in the eighties and I've been back here now since '03.I started playing guitar around ten years old and my skill level is still right around there. 8PMy first Hamer was a late eighties Californian, HS in pearl neon yellow with a reverse headstock.I picked up a fabulous '01 Artist Custom last summer off the second owner, pictured in my avatar.I look forward to joining in on the forum.Take care and Happy New Years!
tommy p Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Welcome! You'll find some great people and a wealth of knowledge here!
Quietly Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Welcome jaydee and Happy New to you and yours.
Steve Haynie Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 We don't need introductions. Just grab some crap and start flinging it.
veatch Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Welcome, jaydee. You wouldn't happen to have a pic of the Cali you could post?
BlueRedWhite Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Welcome!!! You're gonna love it here!!!
svl Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Welcome and Happy New Gear! That's a phrase you're gonna have to embrace hangin' round these parts....
hamerhead Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Dammit!! Would somebody PLEASE close that northern border?!? We're knee-deep in damn Canucks already. Welcome. Hamers multiply like rabbits, so just give in to it.
gtone Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Welcome to the HFC fellow Canuckistani - good to have you on board! Whatever you do, bring your sense de ha ha when you log in here - it gets thick sometimes. Gratuitous gear pics (and those of the occasional scantily clad member of the opposite sex) are generally well received here.
specialk Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Welcome to the asylum! The inmates are definitely running the joint....
jaydee Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 LOLThanks for the welcome guys, I think that I'm going to like it here.Unfortunately veatch, no pics of the Cali.I gave that to a bandmates son on his sixteenth birthday. That was in the mid nineties, a few years after I had picked up a PRS.I had "trained" him to be my tech, as I had a love hate relatioship with the FR.He so loved that guitar that I finally gave it up to him. He wore the paint off of it the last time that I saw it in '03.I wouldn't mind finding another, that thing ROCKED!
django49 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Welcome. Hamers multiply like rabbits, so just give in to it.No s**t Kemo Sabe.........From 4 Hamers to a multiple of that within a year of signing on here. Don't regret it, but have to slow down or find a REAL job!
zorrow Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Hey! Welcome around! You might end up purchasing from us a lot of gear you don't actually need, but we're a bunch of nice people anyway.
jaydee Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 Thanks guys. The thought of the gas that this place will induce is a bit scary. I've been back on the web again now for around a year, after a prolonged absence. Since getting back on, I bought and filled a pedalboard, and then some. I've been a member of a great Canadian gear forum for a while and scored several gear purchases, including my Artist. It's time to build up the gear fund again. Probably not the greatest place to come for a gear addict like me. I'm going to see if I can dig up some pics of the Cali I had, or see if my buddy or his son has some. I'll see what I can do.
Kurt L Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 The thought of the gas that this place will induce is a bit scary.Ain't that the truth! Great bunch of people on this board... welcome!
Brentrocks Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 Welcome jaydee...i am a new Artist owner myself....great guitars!!!!!
cmatthes Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 There IS a 12 step program, but I don't know anybody who has ever completed it successfully.
Steve Haynie Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 There IS a 12 step program, but I don't know anybody who has ever completed it successfully.A 12 string bass cures a 12 step program.
jaydee Posted February 6, 2012 Author Posted February 6, 2012 Hey, I recieved some pics of my old Cali today. Not the greatest pics, but you get the idea... I do miss this guitar. 8(
django49 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 There IS a 12 step program, but I don't know anybody who has ever completed it successfully.Wait, you mean buying 12 Hamers is NOT the cure?!!?
