burningyen Posted June 26, 2014 Author Posted June 26, 2014 More progress:Testing color combos, what do you think?
DBraz Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Nice. Great progress shots. Good luck to you with the sales!
Steve Haynie Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Natural neck with Shoreline Gold. Black headstock/rosewood with Ferrari Red.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Damn, that shoreline gold with the rosewood neck is incredible looking - yowser. So I like the exact opposite combinations Steve likes. A perfect example of different strokes for different folks.A Daphne blue with maple neck would be an awesome combo too, but that gold is talkin' to me.FYI, you're still on my "must buy one" list.
velorush Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I agree with Steve, but I must confess: Shoreline Gold looks good to me with any neck! Banana Yellow, anyone?
Ethanw Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I'd like to see one in a Mary Kay finish, I think it would work well.
burningyen Posted June 26, 2014 Author Posted June 26, 2014 Thanks, guys. I'm on the fence about which combos work best. I'll probably change my mind a few times between now and when they're sold.Ethan, Mary Kaye was my 1st choice for the prototype. I shoulda stuck to my 1st instinct.
Ethanw Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 When you have a run of bodies made and a nicely grained Swamp Ash example catches your eye, you know what to do.
DBraz Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 When I first saw this design I was like "what?!" but the more I look at it the more I like it. It's a real grower and a lovely original shape.Good job.
Feynman Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 At least one of those is begging for a blackblack ebony board. I think these are very nice designs.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Wow - this thread just keeps getting better.
jisham Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 First time I've opened this thread and gotta say, I am REALLY liking these. Nice job!
MCChris Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Yeah, the pewter with rosewood is especially sharp!
burningyen Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 More pieces coming together:I love how Z-90s look just like how they sound, big and bold:
RobB Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Dig the black headstock face, Ben. Looks classy and makes the logo, "pop."
