Wow, Jay... That really takes me back about 37 years when my brother and I went to Manny's on 48th street to buy that bass.

I think he paid $350 for it, brand new with the case.

I think he would approve of what you (we) have done, and that's saying a whole lot, believe me.

Thank you so much.

That trio of G's is very intriguing - imagine that lineup on a stage. Owner an HFC'er, if it's not too bold to ask?

Yes, he is :)

The one on the right is my first guitar. I played it exclusively for about twenty years. Knowing it so well, it became the benchmark by which I judge all others.

I thought why not have a fleet of them that can cover a variety of ground.

Always wondered how a white guitar would look under those ultraviolet club lights. Never giged with one, so I don't really know. :)

Is that a Jazz neck?

No, all P-Bass.

A Jazz neck would have block inlays, I believe.

It also wouldn't say Precision Bass, but don't quote me on that.

Could originally have been ordered with an A-width neck easily enough,

A = 1 1/2 in. (i.e., Jazz nut width)
B = 1 5/8 in.
C = 1 3/4 in.

But it doesn't look that narrow in this photo:

What a beauty and a fitting tribute! Congrats Kiz!

It's actually 1 7/16" wide. Even smaller than the A-width neck.

He bought it off the wall at Manny's, so I guess they must have ordered it that way.

The 3 G's arrived home today!!

I'm like a kid in a candy store...three renewed Gretsch's plus another new-to-me Hamer all arrived today...I'm overwhelmed!

Just finished tuning the Gretsch's and played each for 10-15 minutes. You're right about the P90 version...wow! Single coil mod may take some fiddling, but the work on all is top notch!

Thanks Jay!
