bubs_42 Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 MC, that was awesome! I'm going to have to ask you to delete your post. I fear that you make actually make the Prototype Popular.
Hamer Dave Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Wow, and this was only at $50, when I last looked!!! Yes, it's personalized. Does anyone know of Eddie acquiring it, or actually using it? Like the well documented photos/videos of others. Seems until now, know one has seen, or had knowledge of this one. Please fill us in, if so. dave
Hamer Dave Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 This ad made me seriously scratch my head when I saw it (as a high school kid). I knew who Stevie was, but the other guys didn't ring any bells (without reading the copy)... Ah, Tommy Williams Yellow SS (LED's, and transmitter). Gotta luv that!! What issue(s) was this ad in?
bubs_42 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I miss my SS, I should have just blocked the term and kept it. Perfect neck profile and the guitar was a good one.
Studio Custom Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I believe there are two other SS-12s out there
ARM OF HAMER Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 A interesting and telling photo above with Williams,Martinez,Thrall and Salas. Every HAMER has a Trem. Back then that was the trend and it was hard to sell a guitar w/o one...............people were modding Gibson,Fender............you name it with different Trems. So the "What were we thinking"????? back in the day WAS what people were wanting on their guitars back then. Now of course people have different opinions as to if thats a good thing or not.
django49 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 It is NOT an SS, but if someone needs a white Hamer 12ver, we could chat......About a price a fraction of that Not as scarce, not as valuable, but cool (IMO). Time for me START thinking of the next list of things to post for sale. Just gotta get off my overworked butt......
ARM OF HAMER Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 That is a cool guitar..................electric twelves are great sounding and very versatile.
Studio Custom Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Joe will be the most serious buyerNo he won't.
velorush Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Eddie Martinez was my 80's hero! He put the Heavy in Heavy Nova!
paults Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 That must be one of the most neck-heavy guitars ever made (not that someone would be buying it for comfort)
Studio Custom Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Just ended, no last minute bids, in fact, no bids since Saturday. Ended at $3,650. I guess I have up my home owner's content insurance.
mc2 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Congrats...cool piece. EM auditioned for our band in the early 80s.
Studio Custom Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I was not a bidder. I meant if THAT is worth $3659, what are mine worth?
cynic Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I was not a bidder. I meant if THAT is worth $3659, what are mine worth?Certainly more given they lack that hideous headstock
Tortious Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Is this the same one? The link to that auction is no mas. http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/msg/5423662314.html
HamStd Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I remember that the winner of that auction wrote me and said the guitar headstock was broken in transit, so he got a refund. Hopefully he will chime in here, he is a HFC member with alot of cool toys. I don't see any evidence of that, but I would suggest you ASK YOUR QUESTIONS first Peter
gatorbyte007 Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I bought this Guitar and it arrived with a cracked headstock. Seller was very nice and said return it to the shipper . As soon as I did. He swore up and down that I must have broke it. eBay returned my money. Once again he's not showing the damaged headstock in pics. Buyer Beware!!!!
Tortious Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Um, that first pic is from inside of Dixie Guitar Trader, which has apparently been closed for some time. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#safe=off&q=dixie+guitar+trader I can go by there over the weekend and confirm if necessary. Any other story to go along with pics?
DBraz Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 A picture of the guitar at all the required angles next to today's newspaper would clear it up. I did this before with a guitar and the seller refused. I walked.
