polara Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 http://www.music-man.com/instruments/guitars/st-vincent.html I like the spec. Rosewood neck, Fender scale, five-way switch, locking tuners and stout vibrato bridge.
crunchee Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 It kinda reminds me of a less rounded, non-reverse Gibson Firebird. It also looks to me like they were trying to design a new Explorer-shaped guitar, and gave up way too early.
Keoghpjk Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Meh... If they mirrored the body cut at the neck joint I think it would look nicer; in my opinion.I agree wholeheartedly, but I am liking the bridge MM is using on this.
atquinn Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Looks....so...ugly! Still, I suppose EBMM is to be commended for not using the same old shapes. And at least they have something to do with all the JP Majesty trem molds - Austin
Willie G. Moseley Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 ...as in kin to Vinnie Vincent???The headstock doesn't look "abstract" enough to "coordinate" w/ the body, FWMOW.I presume the Armada inspired this model, to some extent.Never heard of the signature endorser.
JohnnyB Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Almost Tipton bowtie-esque, even.Keep goin' man. You're just warming up.How about: tuxedo for an armless man

A good guitarist, very unusual songwriter. Honestly not my cup of tea, but I respect her.
it's me HHB Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 She's Tucks neice. I love the funk style stuff she's done but that guitar is hideous
gtone Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Annie makes me hard; her guitar not so much. Maybe if it was set neck, 24.75" scale and had one fewer pickups, I could dig it...
polara Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 under 50s?I just enjoy the HFC reflex of "I never heard of so-and-so" regarding musicians active this century.
tbonesullivan Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Looks inspired somewhat by the Armada guitar. Also that's the same tremolo bridge that they use on the Majesty guitar. Has to be good if Petrucci uses it. He used to use Floyd's on his ibanez guitars, but doesn't need them on his EBMM.Pretty much all of the bridges and guitars that EBMM makes are quality. If i was in the market for another "strat-type" guitar, I would definitely be looking at EBMM. But, I have two diablos that still need work first.
devrock Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I think it's hideous (and I'm an EBMM fanboy). But I applaud them for going with an "out there" artist to appeal to a different crowd. I hope it sells well for them.
velorush Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Completely ignorant, but these days I applaud anyone under the age of 50 who actually playing guitar. If she's Tuck Andress' niece, I'm all ears regardless of genre. I'll give a listen! On the guitar, I really like the shape of the Armada. I'm not as fond of this one and I think it is, as Willie pointed out, how the headstock just seems non-sequitur. Interesting how I didn't feel that way about the Armada shape - same headstock...
burningyen Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 St. Vincent is awesome. The guitar is ok. Odd that they didn't square off the headstock.
SSII x 2 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Meh... If they mirrored the body cut at the neck joint I think it would look nicer; in my opinion.I agree wholeheartedly, but I am liking the bridge MM is using on this.+1. Bridge looks similar to the Petrucci?
KH Guitar Freak Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Meh... If they mirrored the body cut at the neck joint I think it would look nicer; in my opinion.I could be wrong, but I guess it's done like that to perhaps help with the balance of the guitar when standing with a strap over your shoulder?
kenjones Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Last Spring Break I was sitting in a bar in Ixtapa, Mexico and this video came on the screen and kinda blew my mind: Here's an older fan-shot video that shows her playing guitar: I think she's alright, but I have never really wanted to buy any of her albums.
crunchee Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 under 50s? I just enjoy the HFC reflex of "I never heard of so-and-so" regarding musicians active this century. Since the current generation (or at least one of 'em) is called "millennials", shouldn't it be referred to it as THIS MILLENNIUM ? In keeping with current trends, it needs to sound as pretentious and condescending as possible, IMO.
chromium Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Got a few more years before I hit 50- so I've heard her Here are a couple live clips that I thought were cool. Bonus Thunderbird content in the first one! I still like her Silvertone better than the Ernie Ball
silentman Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Not quite the Petrucci trem as this one has different saddles. The MM trem is damn near perfect and the same 2 point trem is used across models in their line. I don't expect there will many folks dying for this model, but it fits the EBMM business model for trying new things. No doubt it will be an awesome guitar and a slightly different tool.
