Travis Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 The grain patterns sure do look the same to me. Nice one!
it's me HHB Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 How is it? Are you hearing the benefits of the "threats"?
Disturber Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Can't be the same. The pickup screw poles don't line up.

So this means my TT is worth exactly zero more than the other 29. But, bragging rights! This is interesting - what color is it: "Here's another example, this time with a flat-sawn top in the Wash'd-T color" - Designer Gallery description According to the COA:

Whatever you call it, it’s a gorgeous color.

Willie G. Moseley Posted July 30, 2020 Posted July 30, 2020 It's always fun to try to match grain patterns and other parts on guitars for verification. Like examining fingerprints. And on some instruments, even the patterns on mother of pearl dot markers has been compared to historical photos for attempted authentication.

Like Gary Moore's Burst "Stripe". It was stolen from Ronnie Montrose years before and nobody knew it until somebody alerted Ronnie. Big litigation followed and the courts in England sided with Gary as a "purchaser for value". The courts in California (I think) said the guitar could be confiscated, if it ever came into our country again. It's called "Stripe" because of the figure between the knobs. I never heard where it ended up after Gary died. I do know some guy in Metallica has "Greeny". Travesty...

It is exceptional, as each of the other TTs that i've played have been. I'm not convinced that the "Threat" features are all that compelling, but the neck carve is absolutely perfect. I love the added depth at the base of the neck. I really believe that the extra wood makes the high notes sweeter as Jol claims. The one piece neck may play a role there as well. I've come to accept the victory inlays, but really wish they would have reverted to crowns for this model. Yes, I am shallow.
