Armitage Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Recommend an Online Dealer you've actually used, and what'd you get? Wild West Guitars http://www.wildwestguitars.com/ I did four USA Dean Custom Orders, and got one of my Water Vs from them. Great guys, I heartily recommend them! (They're no longer a Dean or Hamer dealer though).

ecnal Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Rocketeria has helped me with a few custom ordered Hamers, and Dave is great to deal with. Sorry I don't have any pics.
Feynman Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Dave's, Willcutt, Wildwood, BCR Music, Rocketeria, Guitar Salon International, Trilogy Guitars, and Magdon Music have all treated me well. They are all 'real' stores with an online presence, which is great.I'm sure I'll think of others. In a large city remarkably devoid of good guitar resources, most of my dealings are online.I will add that my dealings on the HFC have been among the best of them all, seriously.

I haven't had the privilege of shopping at the others on this list, but I've been doing business with Dave's Guitar Shop for a good 15 years, pre-Internet, back when they had a monthly mailer. I first found him in the pages of Vintage Guitar magazine when I was looking for a USA Hamer (of course!), back when that was the only means of me finding Hamers long-distance. I hadn't considered him a 'online' dealer until now, only because I've been browsing and buying there for so long. I must be getting old. My last snag there was last summer, a '62 Brownface Fender Concert in a repro cab, for about the same price as a used RI Super Reverb. I likes it.
a.bandini Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Elderly Instruments. Got a Martin HD 28 SB for myself (love it, love it, love it) and a Taylor 11CEce for my daughter. No issues, great service, good prices.
gwayne Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Stu at FatSound always treated me right; bought several Fulltone and P.E. pedals from him as well as an Eric Johnson Strat, DrZ Maz 18, ASAT Bluesboy, & my custom Newport.
veatch Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Edlerly is good people, and, yup, BCR Greg has hooked me up a time or four... And he takes good pics and stuff...

hamer4ever Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I rec'd top shelf service from Eric at Willcutts.
tbonesullivan Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 I've bought two used guitars and an amp from Dave's guitar up in Wisconsin. They were priced great, shipping was reasonable, and the guitars were PACKED TO SURVIVE WAR. I'm talking double boxed here. Got my Am Std Tele, my Hamer Candy Apple Special, and my TSL122 from there. Also got one of my Heritages from Wolfe guitars down in Florida, who also have some Hamers, and have now opened a second store in Nashville. Guy I talked to on the phone was really nice, answered all my questions about the used guitar they had for sale, and took care of business. They also like to make actual sound demos of both new and used guitars they have listed, which is really awesome.
BCR Greg Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Thank you to those that mentioned me. You are all my special children, and there is a place set for you at my dinner table. No food, but you can watch.

tbonesullivan Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 By online dealers, do you mean "regular dealers with a website" or "dealers that deal exclusively online." I think it means "regular dealers with a website". I don't know of many or any dealers with Hamer guitars that deal exclusively through the web.I really need to get out to BCR one of these days. I should call up and see if they have any cases for a USA hamer Special.
ib2010 Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Eddie Burman at Indoor Storm is 100% really interested in getting things right for you. Did a few andersons and a suhr with him.

I should call up and see if they have any cases for a USA hamer Special.Yeah but don't all regular dealers have a website? I interpreted the topic to mean 'the website is the dealer's primary presence,' i.e. you don't have any face to face contact with them normally. Most of the kudos in this thread don't fall into that category.
tbonesullivan Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I know of some dealers that do not have a website. They are that "old school." Or if they have one, it's just more of a place holder. They aren't like Daves Guitars or BCR or Wolfe or Sweetwater or Willcutt, or Elderly, which have detailed listings of just about everything they have new or used. I would wager that a major portion of their business is done over their website, or through the phone after seeing things on the website. In the end there is only so much high end guitar business in a given area, and going online vastly increases their presence.

Armitage Posted March 7, 2011 Author Posted March 7, 2011 By online dealers, do you mean "regular dealers with a website" or "dealers that deal exclusively online."I was just thinking any dealer who has a website, preferably one showing stock. I hate web sites that just direct you to a manufacturers site...
