Hmmm... Not a fan of either Aldo Nova or the guitar. Seems like Frank Marino hacked up a Les Paul in the '70s with a Floyd. And Alex Lifeson has a sig model with one. Aldo Nova, is that the guys name? I have a memory cell left from very long ago of them on the radio and it's not a good memory.

Saul, it's just a fantasy. Can you live this fantasy life?

Gibson also marketed the LP-XPL in the mid-'80s during those bizarre times  just prior to the acquisition of the company by Henry and associates. This one's an '85. I thought it played and balanced well/

These, I thought, looked much better than the short horned XPL models. Chris Hayes of Huey Lewis and the News played them before migrating to custom built superstrats.

They did make some of them. Rick Nielsen owns three of them, as is explained below.

And they're fucking cool because I BET THEY STAY IN TUNE!

I am surprised that Henry-less Gibson has not made a run of these yet.

They offered a run of those a year or so ago, and you can order that via the M2M program.

I read somewhere that Aldo ordered two of them when originally developing it with Gibson, but only received one, and that Rick Nielsen has the rest of them.

Rick has 3 of them, one with an (ugh) aftermarket Kahler.  There are a dozen or more out there.

In the 90's and early 2000's you could pick those up dirt cheap. Now they are crazy money.
