atquinn Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Admit it, you knew what this was going to be about before you read it didn't you?http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...atchlink:top:en-Austin
crunchee Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 So, Californians and other Hamer shredders are still out of bounds, as far as new/special orders go?
atquinn Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 So, Californians and other Hamer shredders are still out of bounds, as far as new/special orders go?I would assume that all bolt-neck models are out-of-bounds. However, there was a setneck Californian and I have no idea if they would make one of those or not. Nor do I have the extra 5K laying around to seriously inquire about it.-Austin
crunchee Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 That really is a cool guitar, I was just wondering about the comments in the auction site, especially since the Hamer shop is apparently more open to things they wouldn't have done in the recent past.
cmatthes Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 It certainly can't hurt to ask, but $5k would only be a parial downpayment.
Feynman Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Shipping is open to Europe - we're in trouble I think, Herr Proxmax.
ZR Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Wow! I remember drooling over that exact ad many years ago!! Too much for me to spend, but I do think it's worth it though.
LadyScary Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Promax vs Scary, battle of the Cali titans! either way we win and it ends up with an HFC'er!! lol It's MINE!!! LOL
Bennyboy-UK Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Shipping to Europe eh?...You only really need one kidney, right? ;-)Ben
diablo175 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I just soiled myself gazing on that vision of unbridled guitar beauty. Hmm. 44 is a little too old to be knocking over 7-11's for GAS money, right?

SCARECROW Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 I may take a poke at this one !Hold on for the ride....
bruce919 Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 You can get a Watson with a Floyd & boomers cheaper than 5k.
serial Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Well, maybe not boomers. I was at the factory two weeks ago and both Frank and Kim said "no more boomerang inlays".
edgar_allan_poe Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Well, maybe not boomers. I was at the factory two weeks ago and both Frank and Kim said "no more boomerang inlays".Ugh...not a good sign. Evidently they still don't get it. Boomers are as much a part of Hamer's past as the Sustain Block and if they cannot see that it doesn't bode well. I don't like Boomers and wouldn't want them on a guitar of mine but I recognize their importance in Hamer's history. So should they IMHO.
hamerhead Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 recognize their importance in Hamer's historyYeah - I don't understand that, either. I mean, if they can do Sustain Blocks - truly a pain - then why not Boomers?
Feynman Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 $2800 - right in line with the last few flamed maples we've seen sold.I'd personally rather have that Cali Custom here, but I guess others don't feel the same way.
