carfish7 Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Oh, the sustain!http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1979-Solid-Brass-Ibanez-Artist-2622-Guitar-One-of-a-Kind-AND-Functional-/230982079148?pt=Guitar&hash=item35c79ad2ac
Bloozguy Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 And only 76 pounds...or 34.5 kilos to you metric folks. Think it's chambered?
BlueRedWhite Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Pete Townshend can go break his guitars elsewhere now...
Armitage Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 I played that! The Ibanez rep was making the rounds with that in the late '70s, maybe early '80s. Sustained like crazy but sounded terrible. Ever note just went Pinggggggg.
velorush Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Not that much heavier than the typical Artists from that period.
coolfeel Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Yup, have your first week guitar student demo the $24k guitar through the $200.00 practice amp.
carfish7 Posted September 20, 2013 Author Posted September 20, 2013 Man, I should have had THAT for my "hanging around outside with the dragonflies" axe......but then I'd be replacing the concrete structures and pad!
bubs_42 Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Hell brass is high at the moment they should just scrap it. Someone in Japan is laughing his ass off right now at that asking price.
cmatthes Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Yup, have your first week guitar student demo the $24k guitar through the $200.00 practice amp. My thoughts exactly. At least he didn't play "Smoke On The Water"...
ARM OF HAMER Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Everything you would play on that would be HEAVY! Actually I'm also a member over at the Ibanez Collectors World as at one time I had a lot of those guitars and old "Iron Sides"[Or should I say "Brass Sides"] here has of course been a topic there. From the people that have actually played it............................it does play alright but the sound is not what you would want for a "GUITAR" as a collectible,as a piece of Ibanez history, it would be cool but then you have that BIG number.............. that would keep me from ever owning it no matter how much I wanted it so..................
zorrow Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Now I think this will be a great time saver. I could workout and practice guitar at the same time!
mc2 Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Now why didn't Hamer think of this innovative idea? Jol could've named it the Anvil, after the second Formula V race car
Crwth145 Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Yup, have your first week guitar student demo the $24k guitar through the $200.00 practice amp. My thoughts exactly. At least he didn't play "Smoke On The Water"... I thought his brief bit of intro (first line) from "Dogs" was ironically appropriate: "You gotta be crazy... you gotta have a real need..."
Ting Ho Dung Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Yeah, but. look how neck heavy that guitar is. The guy's sitting on a stool and the neck is still divining for crude.
gorch Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Now I think this will be a great time saver. I could workout and practice guitar at the same time! Yeah, and in a year you walk like an old worker from the coal mines.
Submariner85 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Shipping that thing will cost the seller an arm and a leg and they're offering free shipping. Sounds like a good deal.
gorch Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Shipping that thing will cost the seller an arm and a leg and they're offering free shipping. Sounds like a good deal. They might be happy to get rid of it. Think of polishing it daily.
