specialk Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 http://www.thisdayincountrymusic.com/birthdayno1Mine was Love, Love, Love by Webb Pierce.
ghamerinfrance Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Mine was................euh.... Country did not exist in France at that time....or was even not worth mentionning However, I really love the main music for the movie "Juno" I heard yesterday..Great song by Barry Louis Polisar (Is this Country according to the standards ?)
django49 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Now THAT takes me back!Slipping Around.....Margaret Whiting and Jimmy Wakely
coolfeel Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I am not much of a Country music found, however Carolyn - Merle Haggard was what I got...
Ting Ho Dung Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 What the hell is Spotify? Now I don't remember what my results were.
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Seems it would be more appropriate to look up what Country song was #1 when you found out your spouse was cheating on you.

diablo175 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Though born in, arguably, the country music capitol of the world, Nashville, I could care less about country music other than that a number of the female artists are f-ing hot and Hee Haw was mildly entertaining back in the day.
zorrow Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 "Okie From Muskogee" - Merle Haggard Maybe that's just cynically metal?
Crimsontider Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I can identify with mine. I love the Bakersfield sound and have received unemployment in the past. Hee Haw! Waitin' in Your Welfare Line - Buck Owens - March 2nd 1966
Willie G. Moseley Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 "Why Don't You Love Me"---Hank WilliamsFigures. And he was still alive.
Hamerica Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 How appropriate, "Think of Me" - Alvis Edgar Owens, Jr. better known as "Buck". Buck Owens is from Sherman, TX right down the road from where I am from. More appropriately is the Number #1 Rock song on my birthday "Tossin' & Turnin' by Bobby LewisI am sure I did a lot of that in the beginning...Hamerica Hamerica
Crimsontider Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 "Okie From Muskogee" - Merle Haggard Maybe that's just cynically metal? Merle was always overshadowed a bit but every bit as good. Love that Bakersfield beat. Kind of a bluegrass/country mix. I always thought too that country or hillbilly music is not given enough credit in the creation of R&R. The blues was a direct arrow, but country was throwing down 4/4 back beats in the 40's.
