prototype-fan Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 That is a jaw-dropper. Class with a capital “K." Didn't Hamer make a Vector with similar accoutrements? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Bobby Marshall Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 81 Vector bound body. Me and someone I was acquainted with were both going to bid but I said why doesn't just one of us bid and then agree to sell to the other at the winning bid amount if they need to let go of her. I should have just went for it. And since this thread is this thread, you know what happened.
gorch Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Anyone added an Ultimate to the list yet? Here it is: I stupidly stepped from the list and regret it. Those guitars are stunning and I may never ever be able to play one.
HAMERMAN Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Holy Grail lefty's that do exist:Steinberger GL with TT trem (a few are out there I just cant afford them when they pop up)EB Sterling with maple FB (will probably happen eventually - I just cant justify it unless I am playing bass in a band)Holy grail lefty's that don't exist:Parker FlyIbanez JEM777DY (Not a fan of the one JEM they do offer lefty - white with a vine on the neck and gold hardware)Ibanez JEM DNAKubicki X-FactorHamer Impact 5Surprising how many of them are basses given that I don't play bass all that much.Between the Hamers I do have and my Steinberger XL bass I really can't complain. I also have a old RG550 that will eventually be turned into a JEM777DY clone. These days more than additional guitars I just wish I had more time to play - cause I still suck! :-)
zorrow Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I love Kai Hansen's Hoyer. I own two vintage MiG Hoyers, but none like this black beauty: That's probably my true Holy Grail -way more than the Waters' Vectors.
gorch Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 How could I forget about it!!!! The ultimate, one and only Brian Herold May Red Special. Zorrow and I even created our own takes on the theme.
hanspanzer Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Hamer Standard Black B&C. Something similar to Pepper. Pre Serial, Guitarzandstuff and Kilroy owned Standard is breathtaking. Also the Dean equivalent us high on the list. I saw a newer "the lost 100 Z" for sale some time ago. Almost pulled the trigger but the wallet didn`t agree.
cmatthes Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Hamer Standard Black B&C. Something similar to Pepper. Pre Serial, Guitarzandstuff and Kilroy owned Standard is breathtaking. If you're talking about #0150, I found that one in a used gear shop...for $499 cash. Serial conned me out of it, and even Pirateflynn owned that one for a while.

Ting Ho Dung Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Your personal Holy Grail guitar you never found/purchasedOne that would make me sound worth a shit.
LucSulla Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Someone really needs to do an owners map of all the Hamers that have been passed around here. Something like this, but with guitars and people. http://www.seattlebandmap.com/
tobereeno Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Holy grail Hamer's for me include: 1) The Kellifornian 2) That custom order 24 fret Cali/Cent with the natural flame top and unusual pickup selector location 3) Chris's Prince guitar There are others I desire but don't quite qualify as holy grail. Others, that I own, used to be on "the list", DBraz, do you have a picture of this 24 fret Cali/Cent? Why certainly Sir well hot damn. Add that to my list too!
zorrow Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 How could I forget? A sustainblock'ed Virtuoso: Paul Hamer's natural-finished is in my "wanted" list, though I do sense it is out of my reach. BTW, I think Paul's is Korina, if I remember well -cannot find a picture around, sorry.
mc2 Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I've been lucky enough to have filled most of my guitar and bass bucket list.....except for John Entwistle's Standard 12-string Quadbass that is one digit away from my Quad Bass.I asked Entwistle's about it in the mid-90s at a NAMM Show. He had sold it by then. The BIG irony.....I had sold him my white 63 Fender Bass VI ten years earlier, before the internet made it simple to search for guitars. At that time, I didn't know there was a Standard Quadbass and that Entwistle's owned it.And he says...."I would have gladly traded you that Quadbass for your Fender Bass VI back then."Still haunts me decades later.....
polara Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 That lavender and white Prince Hamer. It's freakin' weird but I dig it.I've always wanted a gold ES295 like Scotty Moore and later Geordie Walker had. That's about it.
gorch Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 For me, something along these lines... Some day, I will own one of these. ...in a dream.
ghamerinfrance Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 The next one....because no money yet. The holy grail could be to get some funds first for feeding the stable soon
velorush Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Super 400 When I was a kid we had Elvis' "'68 Comeback Special" album which included a couple of photos. One of them was this: Super 400, tort guard, Florentine cutaway. I wanted a Super 400 immediately (thought I didn't know what it was until much later). I thought that was just the coolest guitar ever... until I actually had one in my lap. My gosh, you could move a family of four into one of those! Beautiful tone unplugged or plugged in, but I came to the conclusion I'm just not large enough for an 18" guitar.
