Tom's Bucket List Clearance Sale (Pt. 1)

OK, kids, I officially don't know how to start this one, but here goes.

I'm not dead yet.  I'm not likely to be dead very soon. But the cancer is back (with teeth) and the next round of treatment will most likely leave me too weak to gig or even haul my own gear.  And even if I can, I sure as hell don't need a houseful of gear to do it.  I've got four gigs as a bassist between now and St. Paddy's and I don't intend to go looking for any more trouble after that.  So it's time to liquidate some of this stuff and put it toward the ol' bucket list that Most Esteemed Redhead and I have worked up. And get after that while I still can.

This isn't a sympathy play or a Waterloo speech, it's to let you mugs know that I am, in fact, a "motivated seller" as they say in the real estate biz.

I'll likely be listing lots of guitars, amps, pedals, parts, cables by the pound, etc.  Prices are as listed, but I'll even listen to INSULTING offers .

As always, pricing based upon PP Gift plus actual shipping unless indicated otherwise.

Let's start with these; the same ol' 3 guitars I've been plaguing you with forever plus a couple of sleeper Peavey amps:

Or This (turns out it's a Squier Showmaster HH, as far as I can tell:

Or This.  Can't believe that nobody wants to dabble with jazz chords or old-school slide at this price point.  SOLD!

And the amps:

First a Peavey Classic 30 given the near boo-teek treatment by former member Teefus.  Opened the input section up and let the amp breathe, some tone control modifications to let them be more effective and turned the always-irritating "Boost" button into something far more useful.  To the point that you may not ever turn it off.  Everything you'd want a good, tweed-y EL-84 amp to be.

This one is in excellent condition, I bought it from another member way back when (2008?) because I dig these so much I couldn't bear to be without a spare.  And that was what this was, a spare.  Even though it's in better shape and, IMO, sounds better than my other one.  Tube guard, EH preamp and strong JJ power amp tubes with very low miles on this one.  As usual, I tried it out to make sure it was up to snuff and began to regret selling it:

$250. SOLD!

The other is a cool little Peavey 6505 MH mini-head.  20 watts, all tube, all the bells and whistles and all it's cracked up to be in the reviews.  I put just a few hours on it as a companion to a cabinet refresh/refurb project.  The previous owner did likewise.  I'm pretty sure I still have the original box, papers, vaccination certificates, etc.  This is a seriously fun amp.   Angry Beaver optional.  Comes right off.  $250. SOLD!

Thinking of you, TT.  Best of luck with the sale, but most importantly, kick that beast in the ass and get better.  Pulling for ya, brother!

Nicest guy who ever yelled at me in my own cafe. Treat cancer the same way and you'll be A-OK.

Be tough, be steadfast, and BE POSITIVE, man.

In the meantime I'm trying to come up with some excuse to buy the Phantom.

It's straightforward, it plays great, sounds great, looks bada$$ and has an excellent HFC provenance.  Go on, insult me

Dang!  Saw this 5 hours in and the Peavey is already gone.  I would have taken that.

Hope things work out in your favor health-wise.
