Eli Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Silverburst on the 'verb, no affiliation: https://reverb.com/item/27049307-vintage-hamer-violin-bass-usa-silverburst-extremely-rare-1-of-1
cynic Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 "There are an estimated 12 Hamer Violin Basses in existence -- This is every bit of a "one of a kind" bass." I'm not of the camp that a finish color makes something a "one of a kind".
cynic Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Of course you do....how else could you explain the 30 one-of-a-kind guitars hanging in your hizzy.

mrjamiam Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 One other person has it in his cart! Act now! One of a kind of 12 made! NO affiliation whatsoever.
G Man Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Egad, it took them 12 before they realized it was a bad idea to begin with?
killerteddybear Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I don't think there's an instrument on earth that I would pay $12k for. Maybe if I was very successful as a bassist... like that will happen. 😂
The Shark Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I almost spit out my Tullamore Dew... 12K? I guess I'm out of touch. My favorite question to ask, if I'm to be an asshole is, "How much for just one?"
hamerhead Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 I have a one-of-a-kind Hamer Junior. I can't wait to get my $12,000 out of that. WhooHoo!
MCChris Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 1 hour ago, kizanski said: No. Get rid of that.

Rarity doesn't necessarily equal value. I don't know the market of these basses, but I could see it selling for between 4-6k to the right collector that had to have it. As a utility instrument, it is worth $1,800.
DBraz Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Maybe the seller is just hoping to achieve an offer in line with half his asking price? Surely someone out there will “hard ball” him with a 50% offer?

Steve Haynie Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Would Jol make one of those for $12,000.00?
DaveL Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Predicted to sell soon, one other person has this is their cart! At 12k asking, pretty sure reverb is playing fast and loose with someone looking at the item as the same as having it in their cart

cynic Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 There are several here I bet Jol would piss on for free.
