Definitely not overpriced in the current market. As Kiz said, it simply has a narrower appeal than most USA Hamers. Same could be said for the Mirage.

I'll be honest that I'm still tempted by this one. I think that I would like the body shape. I seem to only get along with carved tops or guitars with forearm cuts. 

I even think that I would like the firebird pickups in it as I tend to like bright(er) guitars than many. The timing is bad given other purchases lately.

I'm sorry, I think that your asking price was a little too high.  I just bought a transparent red Hamer Eclipse in excellent condition for $900.   Your black one is probably closer to good condition.  Sure, the Eclipse is a bit of an oddball-shape, but it was the only USA Hamer model, as far as I know, that came with mini-humbuckers.  If anybody reading this post has never tried one, you should!

I briefly had an Eclipse, and it was the Hamer that most just disappeared under my arm.  The contours were extremely comfortable all around.

I have two, a 12 string and a 6 string.  Both get played with regularity at the 4-3-2-1 Club.  I've got 11s on the 6 string and it's a rhythm machine.  It's one of my favorite Hamers, although not everyone that plays it is into it.  I do have a very close friend who hasn't outright said it, but I'm certain he has bonded with that guitar, and would likely buy it if I offered it to him.  He's not much of a buyer though...not like me.

Black does a good job hiding unsightly curves.  Still, I wouldn’t feel bad about the ugly if I wanted to get the Neil Young thing going by slapping a firebird in the bridge, p-90 in the neck and a stetsbar.

Damn……I have a set of vintage wind Rumpel Firebird pickups that would be so great in this guitar and I have always wanted to try an Eclipse. I just finished downsizing. I also don’t need another guitar…..damn damn damn.

Yeah, it's got a tummy cut.  It's got some delamination along the fretboard, but the clearcoat isn't chipping off.

I've done the reverse... Put a set of Firebird pickups (out of an Eclipse) into a P-90 Special.  It became my neon beer sign proof grab and go guitar.

I've had several Eclipses and liked them all.  For some reason,  the 6's made me immediately break into 38 Special riffs.  The 12, well, it's perfect for me and will be around for a long while.
