It speaks to who's buying on that platform, not the quality of what they're buying.
This is the only way that Lauryn Hill's work tops any of the giants listed below hers.

#2, #3, #4 & #6 for sure. On the fence with #9. Although I can't stand to listen to this one anymore, it was a game-changer at the time. I was a DJ when it came out and I had to eventually stop playing Smells Like Teen Spirit because the whole club would erupt into a riot every time I played it.

So there was this wildly popular piece of music that got the crowd into a frenzy, so you stopped playing it?

I must be older - I only found 2. And they were much farther down the list than they should have been.

Not owning Abbey Road and Purple Rain is nothing to be proud of.
In fact you should delete that post.

It looks like most of the lists that I've seen over the years. And is just about as accurate.

My guess is that if any 10 of us (or anyone) made up a list of our top 100 albums/songs/guitars/cars ect. They would all be different.

But they would all be about the same too. 50-75% of the same albums, in different order, and a few the other nine peeps didn't like or had forgotten about.

I'm talking about a real riot so bad that the cops had to be called in to clear the place out and haul everyone off.

I'm wondering if Lauryn Hill does or will have something to promote soon?  They should've broken out by genre.

I used to tease everyone by playing the opening riff and then quickly fade into another song.

Except it doesn't, apparently:

Apple Music’s 100 Best Albums is a modern 21st-century ranking of the greatest records ever made, crafted by Apple Music’s team of experts alongside a select group of artists, songwriters, producers, and industry professionals. The list is an editorial statement, fully independent of any streaming numbers on Apple Music — a love letter to the records that have shaped the world music lovers live and listen in.

So basically, it's was just a clickbait campaign like all of this shit is.

I appreciate three things about this list.

1. It includes more genres than similar "best of" lists and crosses multiple generations

2. Those genres don't include country or western

3. There's no Dead

Even the "legitimate" lists are ultimately clickbait, so...
