P Franco Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 There was a black 1982 Standard (looks like it’s gone now). It had a pick guard and no binding which didn’t look quite right to me. Wonder if the pick guard was added later 🤷♂️

Get "the book" I believe its in there. According to The Book, four of the custom designs were built for Billy Idol guitarist Mark Younger Smith. I'm not certain if any others were ever made. The context and mash up of design elements remind me of the customs built for Steve Brown of Trixter.
