velorush Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Congrats! The seller, gravitymusicgear, is the same store where I recently bought my Cruisebass. They have another cruise for auction here.I talked with the salesman that sold me the Cruise, Tyler, and told him he could skip all of that eBay business by posting Hamers here. When I bought the bass he said it came from a guy who had "a collection." Come to find out, the only Hamers in the collection were the two Cruisebasses; the SS came from another source. He seemed super interested in allowing the HFC to have a look at future Hamers and took down my email address and phone number. Time will tell if he takes it seriously, but it would have been really cool for these items to have shown up here first rather than eBay and Gravity would have maybe saved some fees on Gatorbyte's deal.

Dunno if I want them doing that, I don't think I would have been fortunate enough to snag that SS Prototype (no Steve Stevens sig on the headstock, so I'm assuming SS Proto???) for under $500 if I had other HFC'ers telling them how much that guitar is probably worth or e-mailing them with much better offers like a typical CL bargain Hamer once it's been posted on the HFC

We'll just have to discipline ourselves to quickly and quietly pay the asked price and move along.

It was at the factory, waiting for final clearcoat finish, in 1985 when I went there to pick out my preferred neck for my Phantom A7. The serial number is 31 more than my guitar. I always wondered what happened to that one. I think my very first post on the original HFC said I was looking for Synth guitars, and that hot rod flame guitar. I'm glad to see it ended up with an HFCer! Congrats!!
carfish7 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Geez! Not only L.E.D.'s but CHASING L.E.D.'s!I wonder if it will make that horrible clatter through the amp when it is on?That was what put Rick N. off the checkerboard version I had...........
