Sugartune Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Perhaps an ignorant question here, but if that's used as the prototype/test bed for the pickups, will there be variations between how they'll sound in that and a finished Ultimate, with a maple top and finish? Would it change the resonant properties, and perhaps how the pickups respond?

The veneer on my old Special appeared too delicate to cover chambers. I'd envisioned the chambering would require a thicker top.

I believe the tops over chambered bodies are, most likely, thicker than 4-Digit tops. I have one... It has original GregWinds now.
