Willie G. Moseley Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 "Kiss Me, I'm Shitfaced": Dropkick Murphys "I'm A Nut": Roger Miller (historical footnote: Hilarity ran rampant couple of decades ago during a Presidential campaign when Rush Limbaugh played this song and mixed in remarks by Ross Perot.) Trying to narrow Ray Stevens' catalog down to one song.....

killerteddybear Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Most of Tonio K's catalog. Life in the Foodchain is a favorite.
crunchee Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Anything by Unknown Hinson. Brad Paisley's funny stuff, especially with the Kung Pao Buckaroos. This little ditty by Junior Brown:
Biz Prof Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Google Steve Goodman. Allot about an hour. Time well spent.

Wonderful! "Urban Spaceman" was a regular in our set list. Sometimes we'd nail it onto "Hey Mister Spaceman". Other times we'd toss both of them into a blender and play whatever oozed out as a result, Great fun.

As a resident of Chicago and more particularly, Lincoln Park at about the time this song came out, I have a particular soft spot for this one. When Stevie would do it in his bar or just about anywhere else in Chicago, the audience would about tear the roof off on the chorus.
geoff_hartwell Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Every song by Infant Sorrow, and from Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get him to the Greek. Most written by a Hamer guy! Start with Inside of You

The guitar in the video looks VERY familiar, like a Hamer Scarab with a Kahler, though the headstock logo's probably been covered up to prevent any appearance of endorsement:
specialk Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Gotta add Shel Silverstein. He wrote A Boy Named Sue, One's On The Way, and The Cover Of Rolling Stone, among others.

Toadroller Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 I can recite a number of Shel Silverstein poems. "Oh, I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor, a boa constrictor, a boa constrictor..." "Ickle me, Pickle me, Tickle me too, went for a ride in a flying shoe..." The youngest Toadroller, a woman of self-control and restraint at the tender age of seven, is not amused. Nor does she like my improvised songs in her honor.
mrjamiam Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 No one's mentioned Stephen Lynch yet? He's got a ton of them, with something to offend everyone. But damn he's funny.
Dasein Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 Not a funny song -- but a funny song. My nieces and nephews (probably ages 6 to 9 at the time) absolutely lost their shit when we would play this song in the car on outings. Talking about a breakup where the woman takes all his CD's etc....singing to her he says he "still believes in love --- just not with you!" That killed them -- shits and giggles for days and days... partial lyrics She left with all of my clothes y'all. She left with all my CD's. She was to small to take the Big screen. So she took all my DVD's. I swear the woman went crazy, cussin and yellin at me Lord knows that nothing's gonna break me As long as I still believe. That's why you gotta know I still believe in love I still believe in love I still believe in love Just not with you. No way.... Read more: Jacksoul - Still Believe In Love Lyrics | MetroLyrics

BruceM Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 While driving my parents home from Maryland a few years back, we happened upon a radio station that was playing a half hour show of very old funny songs. This was in West Virginia or Southern Ohio, as I recall. I had my Mom write down the list, because we were cracking up at the titles, let alone when they played the songs. I'll see if I can track that down. One of the most memorable titles, to me, was: The Day They Operated on Papa, They Opened Mama's Male
