  4. Here's my chance to be a real dick. How did I miss this thread?

  5. He looked really old and frail. And honestly, he did not play that well. But he's 80 years old, has arthritis, ocular migraines etc., and he has suffered a heart attack. It was clear this was unrehearsed. It's a bit sad that people recorded this with their phones. They should just have stayed in the moment and let this be a tale of legends. Still, it was heart warming to see Ritchie, Roger, Ian P and Ian G on stage together again. Just as old friends. It felt more like a private moment than a show for the audience. My first concert was Rainbow, Straight Between the Eyes tour 1982. It was Richie, Glover, Joe Lynn Turner, Don Airey and Bobby Rondinelli in the band then. Great show. One for the books. I also saw Deep Purple in 1985. Blackfoot was the support band. We all grow old. But wearing your white socks up over your sweat pants, that is a tough one. 😅 Only Ritchie has enough "no more fucks to give" to pull that off.

  6. Give it a week, someone will relist it for $4K+ and list it as celebrity owned/played.

  8. About the only nice top I've owned was this '96 FM I later shipped out to @capridriver in Germany. An excellent guitar, blingy top or not.

  9. I've decided that it's finally time to downsize. Starting with my Les Paul Custom. It's in excellent condition, all original, fully functional and unmolested. Everything it shipped with from the factory is included. I added Dunlop strap butttons and Faber locking bridge posts (original parts are included). Weight: 8.5 lbs, which is unusually light for one of these if that's appealing to you. Not weight relieved. Nice thick '57 profile neck: 0.95" @ 1st fret, 1.06" at 12th. The only funkiness is a few very small indentations in the clear coat behind the bridge. Possibly from a braclet or watch, but there are no scratches, just pinprick sized dents. Difficult to get a clear photo, but I'll try if this is a concern. Recently sold prices on Reverb range from $4,200 - over $5,000. I'd like to avoid the fees and scam risk associated with Reverb, so I'm asking $3,700 plus $150 shipping. Add 3% for PayPal (or $0 for F&F)

  10. I saw Purple in 1984 at Merriweather with Blackfoot. Great show. Wonder if he showed up like this:

  11. Given Blackmore's legendary ego, I think it's awesome he got up there. He seemed to be quite aware that he wasn't going to blow anyone away. Good on him to give Ian GIllan a call and just getting up there, and good on Ian for making it happen. I'm not even a huge Deep Purple fan, but they are one of the Big Three of heavy music to me. That's a helluva legacy. I guess what I'm saying is that most of us picked up an instrument joined an ensemble of some type because it's fun to make a thing with friends, especially when it turns out that thing is really good. Good reminder that most of the "bullshit" that gets between us over the years really isn't all that important in most cases and that it's kind of dumb going to grave never trying to get a little bit of that original joy back if it's just a phone call away. And I think one of the benefits of being our age on this board is that we can watch that and get it, whereas when I was 20, I probably wouldn't have. Now I should probably go give my Mom a phone call, haha.

  12. As soon as this got listed I reached out to the seller to check if they’d post internationally, and was working through details of how we’d do it before someone else bought it. If the buyer is on HFC and has remorse, please reach out as I’d love to own this one.

  15. Since we're celebrating Ultimate tops, this 2004 in Brown Sugar found a new home this week. Someone scored a gem a few days ago, and I hope it was an HFCer! Custom Order Studio Custom with Ultimate flame on Korina (!), ebony board, an extra Victory and headstock binding. Sold for $2300 at a shop in NC before I could post a PSA. Who got it? I wanna call dibs!

  16. R-Type at Dave's. I used to own this one and it's badass. Great player, lightweight. If you can stand the ill-fitting pickguard, it's worth the money.

  17. Can confirm. He bought all of my guitars without haggling or asking any questions, and then he KEPT them!

  18. Ritchie, one of my guitar hero's. Only got to see him 1x on the perfect strangers tour, but boy did he blow me away. Special moment, thanks for sharing the clip

  20. I had no idea of Ritchie's medical struggles. Makes sense now when I saw him on one of these videos and thought he'd gained a fair amount of weight. His guitar was up and down in volume and yes, his playing wasn't the ripping Blackmore, but it was good to see him with the other guys again. If he has arthritis etc, makes sense as to why it wasn't Highway Star.

  21. I instantly discount anyone holding a clip on mic, especially after having just had it clipped on. Clearly shows you don't know how to work the gear you have.

  22. I knew someone who gigged a couple Mace half stacks for years. It sounded good for his type of metal.

  27. No pass here. I’ve cut audio feeds of CEOs who tried that bullshit. Lavalier mics are designed to be clipped on to clothing, 4-6”, from the neck. Sign of an amateur.

  34. a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Hello everyone, I wanted to provide an update on the recent interruption and the work that has been taking place behind the scenes. Over the past several days, the site has been operating in a restricted access mode while I worked through a security review, cleanup, and infrastructure recovery process. As part of that work, a number of outdated components, unused software, and legacy items were removed, security controls were strengthened, and the server environment was rebuilt and tested. The good news is that the core site, forums, content, and member data remain intact, and the site is steadily returning to normal operation. What Happened? The server showed signs of unauthorized activity that required a thorough investigation and cleanup process. Out of an abundance of caution, access was restricted while the environment was reviewed, repaired, and hardened. At this time there is no evidence that forum content, member posts, or historical discussion data were lost. What Was Done? Among other things: Security controls were strengthened. Several unused or outdated components were removed. Legacy software that was no longer needed was eliminated. WordPress and related components were updated and cleaned up. Additional monitoring and alerting were put in place. The server environment was rebuilt and tested in a restricted-access mode before returning to service. What You May Notice Over the next several days you may notice: Minor visual changes on portions of the site. Navigation or menu updates. Theme/layout adjustments. Temporary issues with less frequently used features as they are tested and restored. Occasional maintenance windows. If you see anything that looks broken, missing, or unusual, please report it rather than assuming someone else already has. What To Watch For Please let me know if you encounter any of the following: Login problems. Missing pages or content. Broken links. Missing images or attachments. Forum posting problems. Account permission issues. Unexpected redirects. Anything that simply "doesn't look right." The more specific the report, the faster I can investigate. Thank You I know interruptions and maintenance periods can be frustrating. I appreciate everyone's patience while I worked through this process. The goal has been to make sure the site remains available, secure, and reliable for the long term. Thank you for sticking with HamerFanClub. — Ted

  35. Thats also good information. The good news is I have upped the monitoring game and set a few traps but so far the security hardening Ive done has been successful. I will look at that traffic though. thanks!

  37. I saw that announcement this morning! I've seen Purple a few times, but only with Steve Morse (I said "only"...not slighting him at all, but it should be Ritchie!). Ritchie didn't show when I attended the DP RNRHOF Induction Ceremony, but that would have been something else. This would be an incredible event to witness.
