rubberweed Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Hi Guys, Recently I lost my canine daughter of 16 years and it inspired me to make a special tribute bass in her honour. I used an '82 Hamer Cruise bass as the basis for the tribute to Sylvia and the work was undertaken by a luthier here in the UK. I love this bass and now this instrument has extra sentimental value as a tribute. It's silly but so am I (and so was Sylvia for that matter). Note the paw-print position markers as a subtle new touch. It's about as macho as a cute dog. And I hope it makes some of you smile. Andy

Sylvia As a Hamer owner, your lovely words are a potent indicator that we're a really nice lot here at HamerFanClub.COM. It's a real community here. I know I've been a lurker in this parish for a while but everyone seems to really look out for each other (or as much as they can on a forum). Initially I was going to change the truss-rod cover to include Sylvia's name but, as the bass is also a tribute to Hamer's fine instruments from that era, I wanted to celebrate the fact that she's still a stock Cruise Bass beneath them paw prints and doggie styling.
