WTF!!! They ran a car through the wall/window and stole your stuff, smash n grab? Or was it a drunk driver that missed his exit?

Hope it works out for the best for you, but I guess this will be a loooong day.

Wow! My first thought was that someone rammed through the front to strip the place.

I hope there was not too much serious damage inside.......And that the driver's insurance was paid up.

Wow - was Keith Moon driving?

Seriously, your insurance carrier should take care of things - they'll subrogate the claim, and the old dude's company will pick up the tab (minus your property damage deductible, most likely; P&C coverage isn't my thing). That's scary - glad no Rocketeers got hurt.

A police car crashed into my parents' building a few years ago. The wreck was cleared up overnight, but no one informed the tenants or my parents that there had been a wreck early that morning. The insurance settlement was a drawn out process, too. I sincerely hope that you and your landlord get some immediate action on this because that is going to cost both of you more than just the cost and effort of rebuilding the storefront.

Oh man, that sucks! Hope everything gets covered.

That's f'ed up. Did the guy fall asleep at the wheel or something? Seems like you'd have to have a pretty good head of steam going to do damage like that!

No, he was just 85 fucking years old. Isn't that enough?

No one that old has any business being behind the wheel of a 4000 pound torpedo.

SCRATCH AND DENT SALE!!!!

Sucks, Dave. Hopefully it all works out.

Just a couple of days ago here in Wheeling Illinois a school bus drove into a home. Must be on the look out for the third "drive in" cause we know all things happen in 3s--lol!

Hopefully you've got business interruption, additional expense as well as property damage coverage. Hopefully geezer boy had a huge liability policy.

I have an idea. I got my old landlord at the studio to put in big freeking bollard posts. Huge recycled highway posts of concrete. I told him it might save his $9000 windows in case some jerk tried to smash & grab the studio gear.

Another real-world example of why the "things happen for a reason" contingent can shove it. Someone will have to explain to me why shit like this has to happen.
