cmatthes Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Kiz - that Lemondrop pic almost changed my tune too. That would have looked really good with the Korina back and sides, but in the end, I'm glad I stuck with the way I initially imagined it. Something really cool about that dark burst that makes everything work for me visually.I'm honored that Jay and Stike were willing to work on this one and see it through so perfectly.

Ted Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Beeuuuatifullllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
serial Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I hear that Stike is presently rocking said guitar with Sleeves of Wizard. Oh to be present for such an occasion would my eyes water with appreciation...
BadgerDave Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 The main thing that bugs me about the Faber is the strings come pretty far out the back so where it wraps around itself so it's pretty easy to scratch up the fat of your palm. There's an easy fix. When you change strings, clip the ball ends off of the old strings. Then run the new strings through the old ball ends, using them as spacers between the ends of the new strings and the holes in the bridge. This "backs up" the strings in the bridge just enough to prevent the windings from protruding over the the top and scratching your hand.

My photography on that one was no bueno. I hear that Stike is presently rocking said guitar with Sleeves of Wizard. Oh to be present for such an occasion would my eyes water with appreciation... I rocked that fucker for the whole second set, my god it sounds good. When I hit the opening chords of Highway To Hell I got a little wood going. cmatthes Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 Still a little off center after the ride home to DC last night, but definitely wanted to comment that Stike did indeed, rock the hell out of this guitar! I've been playing that thing all day, and I'm really blown away at how damned great it sounds, plays, feels, and even looks. I don't really weigh guitars, but this thing has to be under 6 lbs, easily.
LordOfTheThighs Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 I'd name that thing BONER. Cause everytime I'd pick it up, I'd get one.Just WOW. Exceptional vision, construction and finishing. Kudos to all involved.
