dragan Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 wow thats all !?! wonder if they offer financing over like 30 yrs ?
MCChris Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 Needs minor work (heat press the neck....)
Studio Custom Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Has anyone seen one sell over 200k since 2007?
crunchee Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 They're like elephants...nice to look at, but do you REALLY want $265K hanging around your neck?
bcsride Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Any 54 year old guitar in that kind of shape must not sound very good.Yes, I'm finding excuses to not like it, as otherwise I'd just, hmm, sell my house, hmm, nope, can seem to swing the $265K.I'm out. I guess this didn't damage anyone in the guitar no buy challenge.
BlueRedWhite Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 That is worth more than my house...Actually it would really piss me off if a rap mogul buys it..just because he can...
Carl.B Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Hmmmmmm, Let's see use the buy it now and pay in 6 months option. That gives me 26 weeks to either win the power ball or one of my rich relatives die and leaves me all there money! It's a possibility it might work. The only downfall what if the wife finds out! Carl B
MCChris Posted April 24, 2013 Author Posted April 24, 2013 "bridge PAF (8.67k) has double cream bobbins, neck PAF (7.82k) is zebra"Very Hamer-esque.
Jem Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Christ on a bike that looks virtually new. I suppose being at Elderly it's got to be legit but that's in creepy condition.
Mindseyes Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 so fresh, so cleanSomeone buy it and put some damn mileage on it!!!
veatch Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I'm no Gibby expert, but aren't the figured tops on the 58/59 pretty durn rare?Gorgeous guitar.
hamerhead Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Christ on a bike that looks virtually new. I suppose being at Elderly it's got to be legit but that's in creepy condition. That's the kicker. It's gorgeous, but a 54-year-old guitar in that shape has got to be a colossal dud, doesn't it?
Brentrocks Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 thats only 1 1/2 hours from me....i may have to check it out
jisham Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 so fresh, so cleanSomeone buy it and put some damn mileage on it!!!That's what I say. Pull a Joe Bonamassa, and actually tour and play the vintage stuff. I don't think it's shape necessarily equates to being a dud (although of course it could) -- maybe it's literally sat under a bed for 50 years? Regardless, it's a beauty and if cash were no concern, I'd be on a flight tomorrow to check it out.
django49 Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Hmmmmmm, Let's see use the buy it now and pay in 6 months option. Carl B Aw, hell! 6 months to pay! Only $10k per week! Piece of cake! I probably have more chance at the lottery than a rich relative turning up......
carfish7 Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Says it was a one-family unit, so maybe they just didn't use it much. But likely more than the next owner will. That is the saddest part of the whole "guitars as investments" angle - many of them never get used again because they are worth too much.
cloakerz Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 saw a pristine 1962 strat with hang tags not long ago, $10,000. Owner of shop told me it was a museum piece all right, it was a sonic dud tone wise.
