stobro Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 Speaking of chili peppers, does a gatefold count as an album cover?
JGale Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 Seer Dolby was a great comfort during the worst of times. PSB Stratus Golds @200W a side. Who needs Martinis to unwind?
Jakeboy Posted August 14, 2023 Posted August 14, 2023 Rumor has it this chick wanted to strip off all the way and was disappointed when the band said “ not needed.”
tommy p Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 I'm lousy at picking something I would call my "favorite" but here's a few I really liked.
kizanski Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Eight year old me saw this album at the local record store and, based on nothing other than the album cover, begged my step-dad to buy it for me. I had no idea who or what ELP was. Fifty years later it's still one of my favorite records of all time. THAT'S a great album cover.
Biz Prof Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Hard to beat any of the classic-era Iron Maiden covers, but I always found this one appropriately strange and irreverent: Typical of Zappa tomfoolery, the concept was a mash-up of the old Schick magazine ad and this story from a pulp mag:
Willie G. Moseley Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Artist Neon Park did the Weasels Ripped My Flash cover, as well as Sailin' Shoes and other Little Feat album covers

I had a similar experience with my first album at a young age. but it was this one. I am sure this set me on my path of loving funk based rock. ELP was my very first concert in 1976 but that came later.
shankyboy Posted August 16, 2023 Posted August 16, 2023 The Virgin Killer Album Cover by itself was perhaps a little too creepy so these 4 albums fall under the same category as being hard to find since they were not deemed appropriate for release in America. I was a total Scorpions nut in the Eighties.
